I have both. I prefer the spiders because they are much easier to adjust, but the cinch bugs just work better for my bridge hammock (I just have a dogbone on each corner of the hammock, so one...

I don't think it matters what you call things, Dutch. If it's on your site, we'll buy it!
I had mine out for a weekend of absolute downpour recently. I was dry as a bone! I'm fairly confident without seam sealing mine, given results like that.
Of course, I don't have pullouts on it. ...
That gave me a good laugh. Not least because it's a comfort to see that it's not just us mortals who make these mistakes.
The number of "you-have-got-to-be-kidding-me" moments I have when DIY'ing...
Aaaaand ... now Dutch has more of my money. :-)
I just enjoy the show! I suspect that HangingOut is right, and end-on to the wind is best. I have a SuperFly, so the doors prevent the rain from blowing in, and it seems much more secure in the...
OK now my finger is itchy!
Great bug net, thanks Dutch!
Looks pretty cool. I've had good luck with this version made of paracord only, but this looks like fun too.
Haha, I nabbed one the other day as soon as it came into stock. It just arrived today, which is great because it's a public holiday.
I'm off to the backyard where I can give the finger to all...
Now that is awesome. Way to go Dutch!
I just do a slipped sheet bend into the loop on the end of the tree hugger. Works fine for me and I'm over 200lb.
This also allows you to put one end of the hugger through the other which...
And I am right with you on that, lego space man. :-)
With a 200lb load in the hammock, and the lines at 30 degrees down from horizontal, there will be 200lb tension in the lines. This does account for two lines, even though it sounds a bit...
With discounts like that, I think I'll keep my eyes out at Sierra Trading Post. I'll subscribe to them and see what I can get. I'm not in a particular hurry I guess, so I'll see what time brings!
...
Alright, I'm in!
Thanks donig. I've never looked at Sierra Trading Post before, but it turns out they do ship to Australia. They estimate shipping at roughly the same as Alite, so I think I'll keep an eye out...
OK so this is a bit of a strange one. I'd like to get two Alite Mayfly chairs, but I'm having some trouble (due to being in Australia I guess).
The Alite site doesn't accept Amex or PayPal, and...
How to choose the right size? Are the sizes what they stretch to or from, or don't they have any stretch at all?
A bit of amsteel around my head nets me a measurement just under 23", but everyone...
Can't argue with that! I've got some of those biners and they are very cool.
Why not do that knot straight onto the loop in the end of the tree hugger? It would work just as well, and you would save weight without the biner.
That's pretty much a sheet bend, and it sounds like it should work. I'm going to give it a try!
Sounds fantastic! The WBRR is super comfy ain't it!
The irony of your screen name is not lost by the way. That gave me a laugh.
I still have two Hennessy hammocks, and I don't mind the stock suspension. I put one end of the tree hugger through the other (which prevents the thing slipping down the tree), and then just tie a...
I can't speak for the grosgrain method, but here's what I would do if the side hem is already sewn on the hammock. Choose where you want the shock cord to enter and exit at each end of the hammock,...
Exactly how I started. Nothing like a bit of Shug to get the hammock bug firmly planted!
Welcome aboard!
I'll add my voice to those thanking you, Dutch, for valuing our safety more than your profit margin. I've seen some wear on at least one of my sets, but I figure that's what we get for being...
I would probably go for that Ti nose-hair clipper. I've got plenty of work for that baby to do ...
The WBBB is the only reason I can come up with.
Brandon is just a trend-setter is all.
I'm curious: why would you say it's aaaawwwwful? I have the old version too (from Snugpak), and although I haven't used it in really cold weather for enough time to say for sure, I've been pretty...
I doubt you'll have any problems. The Superfly has a grosgrain ridge so the poles won't be going straight on sylnylon anyway. That ridge on Warbonnet tarps is tough!
Another option might be to spread the load between one anchor in a wall stud and another in a roof truss above. Anybody have any thoughts on that?
Yep. I call it the Jethro Tull. :) Works for me if I ever get the calf ridge, but I rarely do since I hang the foot end higher like others have said.
IckyTheGreat, I'm sorry if my earlier post came across as disrespectful. It certainly wasn't my intent.
I think Shug has you covered as far as the information goes. In the meantime, whether you...
Careful. If you donate, you'll start spending tons on stoves and such.
Oh, and you'll probably end up with a Netti pot! :-D
I use the double ended sack that came with my Blackbird, and it's great. I mark the head end with some white string, and then I know which way around it is. The setup and takedown are really super...
Well that makes my third Dutch order in the last few weeks ...
Did anybody else see that the drop down for options has these as "Tarpwoems" if you select them with Lash-it or Zing-it? Just...
Welcome, from Canberra, Australia!
Glad you like it. Mine is still going strong. I've replaced the cord locks with paracord as shown here. It's a great replacement, especially for super-weight-weenies (unlike me).
That's a very good video. Almost everything he says is dead on, and it includes a lot of useful information.
It's a good tutorial on making a locked brummel splice as well (although I personally...
There's a good chance that the Warbonnet will have options like the Blackbird (i.e. single/double layer, 1.1/1.7oz). If that's the case, then I'm thinking that the double layer will accommodate a...
I second the WL Tadpole. Beautiful piece of work, great coverage (unless you have a super long hammock), and it's really light. Mine comes in at 12.1oz, complete with guy lines, stuff sack and...
So, if I pledge $2,000 I get a guided trip in New England, and it will only cost an extra $15 to "ship" me there? :D
Looks pretty nice. The only feedback I can offer at the moment (apart maybe...
Check our mailboxes.
Coincidentally, I just took delivery of one today. My wife was curiously not mad...
Maybe it's because she knows I'll be forced to use it from now on, and she's kicking me out of the house!
...
One million dollars. I'll give you my paypal address if you like.:D
(In other words, no price announcement that I know of, but I'll cover it if you send me the million dollars.)
Why, are you planning to enter your hammock from a unicycle? Or do a headstand in it?
I'm always in for a Shug video!
Bump!
I'm considering buying a DD (Snugpak) under blanket new from here, but I'd like to see if anyone has anything available used.
I think it's just so comfortable that he keeps falling asleep while testing!
See my post here. Shipping to Australia can be had fairly reasonably. Go for it!
There's one way I love to lie in bed, and I've never been able to get it to work, even remotely, in any non-bridge hammock I've tried. I'd like to know how easily it can be achieved in a bridge...
