Ditto on this one. I always have my beverage in a sealed container and either throw it the shelf area (WBBB) or the peak shelf (Dream). I realize that isn't ideal for carbonation, but I'm certain to...
I like your setup. I made a stand a year ago, but just haven't been able to make it work to my satisfaction. May have to give yours a shot. Were there any hangups or things you would avoid if you did...
I was where you were a year or so ago. However, I've recently switched back to MSR stakes over hooks. I may still use the hooks in some situations, but I've had difficulty with them enough that I...
And if you are airing it out anyway, the perfect time to spray some permethrin, let it dry, and make sure your next excursion is bug-free. Mine is getting the treatment this weekend before we head...
That is fantastic. Thank you for sharing with everyone. Looks like I am heading to the hardware store tonight. Scout camp starts in a week!
I eat banana chips regularly on my hikes. I haven't ever tried the powder before but will have to look into that. Not sure what I might mix that with though.
I would also agree with slight diagonal lay and higher foot end. Once I got those two pieces down, my hammock experience improved significantly.
Great picture by your daughter. Hope you both have a great day!
I would always suggest you use for comfort and M partial to snaps.
Welcome. Looks like a hell of a storm. Glad you got out when you did!
If you soak in Permethrin you will be in the clear either way.
It is plenty. I’ve gotten the stuff from Ace to do other tarps with, but the small tube is more than enough for the tie outs.
I was happy with my DIY Costco quilt until I tried others. Hard to go back after having one professionally made.
Regular width 1.6 has served me well.
Stingerz solves the problem for me. Can be tricky depending on the setup/trees since every hang varies a little. However, I’ve never looked back from using Stingerz.
I'm not full-on camo, but like others, go with muted colors most of the time.
I'm actually impressed they did a followup to make a correction. That doesn't happen very often. Great job representing the community.
This is the one thing that was missing out of the NX 270. I always wish I had something overhead just for storage.
I make sure mine is clean and dry from my last excursion and then back in the stuff sack.
U just get up and go. Not the best, but better than the other options for me.
Happened to me. ONCE. Now I always treat with permethrin ahead of time and haven't had the issue again. Sorry you had this happen to you!
I just want to be comfortable. I've seen so many people convert to hammocks in the last few years.
Super fly is absolutely perfect for my Dream Hammock.
These neck fans are amazing. Used them with my Scouts all summer. Perfect for hammock camping. My batteries lasted over a week, using several hours each night.

Before hiking, my activity of choice was cycling. Another sport where grams are all important. It's obviously true that you need to pack strategically and be weight conscious. However, as one of my...
I use the TSC at 20:1 as well. I soak just about everything I can in the solution. My buddy who also hangs came back with 4 ticks (used a bug net too). I came back clean as a whistle. I swear by the...
