Well, we originally ordered 6 DIY Hammocks Anchors from BIAS, getting them a few days later. We have 220 grit sandpaper and a Dremel, so we wanted to try the DIY. Although these are very well made...
Sorry for the confusion. BIAS sells both the finished hammock anchors and the DIY (or unfinished). I was concerned with either taking off too much or not taking off enough, so we decided to do the...

Thanks, hammockFan. Watched the videos and ordered 3 pairs from BIAS. Looking forward to trying them
Are the instructions for using the hammock anchors available anywhere? Thanks.
Never mind. I found the answer: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php/104807-I-am-suspending-selling-the-speed-hooks
I noticed that Dutch doesn't sell speed hooks anymore. Has something else replaced them?
It might work if you add one additional wrap. I don't know if that would save much weight though as the hugger would have to be longer. Otherwise you might get some slippage: either when one person...
+1 for separate foot end huggers. We use 1 Inch Olive Drab Green Tubular Nylon Webbing. It's lightweight and strong (2,000 lb. tensile strength).

It looks a wider tarp will be necessary with the double hammock whoopie hooks, but does anyone have any idea if a longer tarp will be needed?
Thanks.
Ok, thanks for your help.
Thanks, Suede. So the .433 supported you and your wife, or do you still need to try that combination?
I was just looking on Quest's site. It looks like the #4122 end tip will work.
Thanks, Suede. Do you know if Is there is another tip that could be substituted?
Hi Suede, have you had a chance to try the .490s yet? Thanks.
Thanks, Dutch!

jck107, I apologize. After my original post, I changed my setup, but didn't update my post. Although I still think it will work, I have a different solution in mind now (with, maybe, a better...
We like to backpack with as little weight as possible, so I have a thought to throw out there.
If we use the .355 carbon fiber poles why not, once the hammock is setup, attach a small 'straight'...
I'm not sure I understand. Both hammocks would have an identical setup. See picture (As I mention, I'm no artist) at URL below, post #96.
This is my original post:...
The bury of the CL would be inside the hammock end channel. You could also use a 'Dog Bonz' instead of a CL.
I was wondering if anyone got to try out the double hammock whoopie hook suspension yet? I tried to go camping around Thanksgiving, but got snowed out...around a foot according to the locals. :crying
We will be using separate tree huggers, one for each hammock.
However, I hadn't thought of running them around the tree in different directions or about the tree size.
That makes sense. Thanks...
Thanks, fk. That was my intention. Plus, I'm trying to be a gram weanie.
Dutch, I might be misundertanding you. Our suspension should be independent. A double Hammock whoopie hook and speed hook...
Here's an example of how bad of an artist I am. I want to use speed hooks to connect our hammocks to the tree strap using one single adjustable line for each hammock. I also want to use the Double...
Getting close! Quest Outfitters sent an email that poles, etc that I ordered wnet out first class yesterday.
Anyone else that ordered from Quesy did you get your order yet, or get an email about...
You're right. They're still notched. Thanks.
I did order some poles and posts from Quest, just waiting on delivery.
Did get the hammock whoopie hooks last night. Very nice. Looking forward to...
Would the JRB aluminum spreader bar work with the Dutch hammock whoopie hooks?
If so, does anyone know what they weigh?
You can hang two hammocks from one tree if you attach the straps for each hammock so that they are on the outsides of the tree. It might be tight, but could work with a larger tree. You could also do...
Thanks gain.
Thanks, Dutch.
Will installation instruction accompany the double hammock whoopie hooks? I ordered a pair, but noticed instructions weren't on your web site yet.
Right, but the hammock whoopie hook would not have to support the hammock from the tree. The speed hook would do that.
I guess what I was thinking is to have both on the CL from the hammock and just let the double whoopee hook dangle. Since it's only purpose to be a spacer between the hammocks, it doesn't have to...
Can the speed hook be used in conjunction with the double whoopie hook?
The idea would be to put the both on one CL and just use the double whoopie hook for spread. The use a single piece of...
WV, thanks for the link. I looked round, but couldn't find anything with a diameter of .355. I'm not sure if the smaller diameters would work. Being segmented, the length is somewhat customizable.

How about the "Dutch Oven"?
I ordered the carobn fiber poles from Quest Outfitters... unfortunately "Both carbon fiber pole sections are on backorder until approx Nov. 21, 2014"
:(
Thanks, again. Looking forward to trying everything.
Thanks for such a quick reply. Our hammocks are 9 feet long. We'll be using a rectangular tarp, not cat cut. We're looking a an 8.5x11 cuben. I'll have to look at the video, but are your poles...
Dutch, on your site you suggest 35" a spreader bar. On the first page of this thread you suggest at least 22". What is your preferred length? Thanks.
Thanks, Red.
Ours are ~7.5+", so I'll give them a try.
Redoleary...On my latest tablecloth hammock I made a large continuous loop fed it thru the channel and pick up my SRL that comes thru a hole in the middle of the channel. Nothing new I show a similar...
rob317, have you tried your hammock without the spreader bars. I'm toying with removing them for packability (and a little weight savings)?
Sliver Sharpie... thanks guys. I'll give it a try.
Just an FYI.
My wife and I made some continuous loops yesterday, but had a problem with marking the cord. Red, blue, yellow... nothing showed on the cord. We ended up using Scotch tape to mark...
Her's another one that we found very goo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcoKeXAwBZY#t=12
Another option would be the Clamcleat...95947
Just thought I would update on the net spreader poles. They are thinner and solid on the Byer as compared to the heavier, hollow poles on the DD Frontline. Look like they'll do a good job. Much...
