Umm, that was full speed for us!
I hadn't heard about Running Feather. That is very sad.
Well if he slept that well, I don't think you will be needing any tips! Congrats.
be great to see Sluggie and you again.
Thanks! Just ordered a thunderbird from Papa Smurf for Sluggie! Should have it for this hang.
Well
I know you have more then one hammock! Bring your wife with you. I have a lovely singing voice!
I bet HB still walks up that hill faster then I do while carrying Michelle! We will be there. I will have the boss post all the necessary info.
Good to hear! You may get a hiking buddy yet.
I hate that this and John Rock came up on the same weekend. John Rock has become a tradition so we will be going there. I hope you guys have a blast!
Well, we have had a hard time choosing between Roan Mtn. and John Rock. Both will be fantastic hangs. Sluggie and I will be there Friday! Save us some trees.
Roan Mtn would be nice in July! Sluggie and I could probably make it!
Not sure why you need to take a nap after camping but it was needed. We took the 2 person hammock stand so we could stay under one big tarp and give our pup more dry area. We got there later then I...
Wish we could have come Thursday night too! Sluggy and I will be there Friday night.
Sounds like she had a great time! I lived in Texas for awhile, I don't miss the 100plus temps every day for weeks.
That is pretty cool. For those of you that would like to try it but don't like heights, theres nothing saying you couldn't hang off a branch close to the ground! Thanks for showing your invention!
Yay! We were there last weekend. Looking forward to it.
Came back home to experience the sauna that is Kingsport! It was so nice to be a little chilly even if it did rain. Thanks everyone for a great time. A special thanks to RF and HB for the invite!
We are bringing our new pup. Got her from the shelter in Dec. so this is her first camping trip. Sluggie has had her out camping in the back yard.
95% sure there will be brownies! Only 95% because I dont make them.
Sluggie and I, will be there!
Your missfortune is what will make this trip memorable forever! Its great when things work perfectly, but those are not the times you remember and they dont make intersting stories. Happy Birtyhady...
yay for you! happy hanging
That looks great! But in the first picture it looks like your foot is in the fire! Good eats great scenery and excellant company. You had it made.
Coldest for me so far has been 22. I slept great. I couldnt figure out why there was frost on the ground when I woke up til I checked the Temp.
You will have to go back and visit in the spring!
Thats very cool! Get grandpa a new pack. He has no padding on his shoulders, I couldnt hike in that.
Best wishes: Lump
Tell him, I am looking forward to seeing him at the next hang! But I dont know how you are going to get all that gear on that motorcycle.
Best wishes: Lump
The pictures are over in trip reports started by Granny Pat
Im pretty sure alot of the NC folks are going to linville gorge that weekend.
I still got beat in ladder ball. Even with the beanie and camping monkeys!
Yep Loki we are your neighbors in 411. We will serve as a buffer zone between you and Curtis and the madness that is site 413!
We wont get there til Friday evening. We are bringing our 2 godchildren with us, so it will be interesting to say the least
My wife Sluggie hangs. I think we had 5 women at our last hang in NC. I think we have 3 already signed up for the Hot Springs hang.
I think we finally got custody of our 2 god children for the weekend! So that will be intersting we got campsite 411 so we gota place to live. Lookingforward to it.
Im 6'2" and 260lbs. I really like my explorer deluxe. I got the hex tarp with it. Ive been in a few rain storms but no sideways rain, but so far Ive stayed comfortable and dry. I think you will be...

Ok, anytime you see Fire in My Bones post that he is bringing food to a hang you should just sign up and drive to it, no matter how far it is! I got to meet a lot of new folks and everyone of them...
I wondered why we didnt see you gys signed up for the WNC hang. Congrats on the 41st!
That looked like a great trip. Really cool pics and some really nice fish!
Roche!
You tell them if your going to camp, you gotta learn how to deal with tree huggers!
I got old and ate up with arthritus. Sleeping on the ground wasnt an option any more and I figure my camping days were over. Then one day while looking through a Canoe and Kayak magazine I saw an...
I use a 3 season incubater. It works great. There are little tabs sewn on it and they match up to the tie outs on your hammock. I clip the UQ to the tie outs and hold it at a diagnal like you lay....
Adjustment for your hammock is much easier with a different suspension. I like the warbonnet straps just because you cant forget anything, its all hooked to your hammock. But most seem to prefer the...
Im up for a cookout Sat. Let us know what you need.
Thats to bad. We were looking forward to hanging with you again Slowhike. As far as setting up for a demo, Im afraid Sluggie and I wouldnt be able to do it justice being relative noobs. So I guess we...
Good luck! Try a few experimental hangs in the yard if thats possible to help you get your hang right.
Looks like your rocking a new Kevlar canoe! Nice trip.
Anyone of my friends that camp have been very interested in our hammocks. In fact 3 of them are saving funds to buy some. But I have found that most of my old friends Ive known for years only go...
Sounds like you had a blast. Since Maggie-O is in only one picture, I take it she was the photographer! Thanks for report.
Poor moose. LOL. Hopefully all the waters from the world wont fall on us in the middle of our hike this year! All kidding aside this site is great to hammock in. I think RF and HB planted the trees...
Sluggie and I will be there!
