That is one reason why I moved my date. I cannot imagine the conditions some people are facing at the trail now. I know if they manage to get to Tennessee they are expecting even worse conditions.

I am#7130! Before I placed the order I emailed them asking for average waiting time. They said 10 days, it has been 12 as of today now, I am ready for my quilt! Lol
I experienced mine at 19*, but I had to come up with a way that it didn't get any air pockets, which felt super cold at those temperatures. Once everything was set up properly it kept me warm and...
I don't see why not, it is not that hard to do it yourself if you happen to have down around. But I don't see why they would refuse any type of business.
Any updates? Anyone has any experience?
Check the weight, and the model. Older models came with different material so it also affects the weight.
I am also interested given I have the same question but with a Neoair women's which I believe has 3.7-3.9 R value. I want to be able to do single digits with my 20* UQ
I am too waiting on one since Nov. 28. They did email me and sent me my 3 quilts I bought from them. They said they were waiting on cuben fiber.
They do have Titanium, and they sure are busy. My order came in with the colors mixed up in the quilts, no big problem as it doesn't affect the use and I can't complain after the great price I...
So I want to guess a 3/4 wouldn't be too bad for summer but for freezing temperatures a full size is the way to go?
Oh I know, that's why I upgraded my standard to a winter palace! :DDD
My titanium quilt was shipped today along with my other 2 quilts. HG is out of cuben fiber so my tarp is still in backorder :(
I will have to add that loop to pull myself from. Nice idea.
I would be interested in your comparison, given you have tried a few quilts by HG.
I had the exact same debate as you, and I settled for an incubator 20° just because a couple ounces don't matter to me if I don't have to wake up in the middle of the night with cold feet. I am...
I was in the same boat as you but with a BB. I finally bought the BB and I have to say it was the best sleep ever outdoors. Way better than any gathered end hammock I have used. The shelf was nice ...
My BB shipped the next day. Awesome!
I have Titanium as well. I hope it is well worth the wait.
I wish I could have placed my order before Blackfriday but I saved around $300 so I can't complain about waiting. I am only about 40 numbers away from you :D
I did everything outside. I figured i wouldn't care if i lost .5 ounce of down to the air, so as a precaution I bought an extra ounce just in case. I didn't need it.
Could you provide me with your Order number? Just so I have an idea of how many people are in front of me.
I had the same exact question. I placed the order and just made a note. I know he will be busy for a long time so not sure if that is simply marked as black to make the shell easier (pre-made). But...
#6076, Geeze you guys couldn't wait until I finished placing my order?
I really enjoy putting all my extra layers on a dry bag and add a buff around it. Absolutely better than any pillow I have tried.
And +1 on the cocoon pillow failing.
How could your system be different? You have a pad, and you have two quilts to choose from. Sounds more than perfect for me. You can also hang your tarp in the entrance of the shelter to stop the...
The "quater quilt" ideas has been mention before. But most people use a small pad (like GG pad) and/or down booties. Down booties are awesome btw!
Looks like HG is going to have an awesome time this year with everyone planning on getting their products. I am going to spend some serious cash on them if they do have a sale.
Everything is sold but the backpack in case anyone is interested. Thank you to everyone who purchased from me, I hope you enjoy everything.
Yes it includes Zline, and the cuben fiber stuff sack. I will set up and send you pictures via email.
Yes it is the Solo, with the solo groundsheet. It is blue color and in great condition, it is $430 new from Zpacks.
It is the S/M
I have quite a few items for sale. Everything is located in Fort Worth, TX 20 minutes from Dallas. Shipping is extra and not included in the prices.
First I have my awesome 10' Standard Cuben...
Oh wow that 20% off $1,000+ would be awesome! Here goes my college fund lol
And I cannot say enough good things about HG tarps with doors. I am planning on moving to a winter palace from my standard with doors.
I think you could do good with it. If you are like me and carry a "heavy" down jacket (mine being 14 oz) it seriously pushes your limits, and down booties are a must. You can also get insulated...
It is crazy what you can do with that new HyperD fabric.
Exactly, cuben fiber takes more room than silnylon, at least in my experience, it might not bother you much but if you have limit room in your pack it is a concern.
I put my tarp in snakeskins and then in a bishop bag (cuben fiber) because it compresses the tarp into a good shape.
We all learn one way or another. I learned I needed an underquilt when I tried to camp at 65°. And just this past week I learned to keep my underquilt snug around my head area. And most importantly I...
I think their other hammocks (rated for 400#) come with the same hooks, but I know their line has changed so I might be wrong.
Is that a space blanket inside your hammock or an UQP?
I have about to create a bishop bag out of fleece material, it will serve as a buff in cold weather and then I stuff my clothes in there to use as a pillow (mainly down jacket)
And that's how vampires are born.
I just got done testing my 10' cuben standard tarp under my 10' hammock. Plenty of room in there, no rain but I feel confident enough to take it on my 3 day trip tomorrow which includes many MANY...
Just a personal advice. Don't go so minimalistic on shoes, after all that's the only thing that will be with you "every step of the trail" after being in some rocky trails and experienc brushes on my...
Thank you, I am glad I found this post. I love watching people record their thru hike. Can't wait for mine next year.
Hello, I was just wondering if there was update to this. How is the sock treating you?
If you were gaiters, they cover your shoes very well. I sometimes attach them shoes to a stake.
Just have to comment about CF "melting" during 100+ degrees summer. There is some really strong CF with Nylon added to it but it weights 1.43 oz/yd so defeats the purpose of using the material to...
They are a beauty!
I am not a big fan of any camo, but the one in the very center looks great, wouldn't mind sleeping in one of those!
