Yeti still available
Hammock is sold.
Hammock is sold. Lefty Yeti is still available. I have my doubts it will sell separately, but will leave it up for a bit. Still $150 firm.
Still for sale. Offer declined. Firm on the price. Non-smoking household. All down gear stored loose in a large cotton bag.
I have no record of the order, but given the age, I'd guess 850. It hasn't been that long since 950 was too expensive for large items like sleeping gear.
Yeti is 40º. Thanks for pointing out I missed that. Edited title to show temp.
Ok, so I bought this WBBB dbl in the Lefty model so the wife and I could face each other while hammock camping. She fell ill, disabled, and never got to use it. Same thing with the underquilt. ...
I'll be looking into this myself.
Sold. Sorry for the delay, but I have been away, no computer. Package will ship on Monday.
No one actually taking this yet. Conditional claims are not binding. According to the rules, first one to say "I'll Take It", without any further conditions gets it. After claiming it, PM me for...
Non smoking home. Ridgeline is installed, and still adjustable. Tree straps included.
Double layer, no net. Whoopie slings, Double ended stuff sack. Price includes shipping to lower 48. This hammock has been used twice inside the house. No signs of any wear or damage. I am...
Thanks for the answer. It wasn't a big deal either way, just wanted to know if I was overlooking something. This makes a fine addition to my gear. Thanks for all you do.
Got mine in the mail today, and the tree strap is long enough to also function as a belt for my pants. Not quite long enough for a Redwood, though. I might need to add some Amsteel to lengthen it. ...
I have 12 feet 8 inches of 2 inch polyester webbing, black. I will sell it for $8 + shipping. It has a 6000 pound breaking strength, as found on a web site selling such strap. they are selling it...
Years ago, I took a small clamp from a name tag I had at work, and use it for a clamp on my ridge line to keep stuff from sliding where I don't want it. It stays on the ridge line when I pack up.
I have successfully hung from rock face and large boulders by either using small wire chocks or enough line to wrap around the boulder.
Another vote for the animated knot site listed above. Works wonders for me.
I have 2 skins, and have learned to furl the tarp a bit before drawing the skins into place. Helps keep the lines in place as well. Really quite easy to keep the tarp in position once you try it a...
Or, you can play with the calculator a bit for your ridge line and weight. For me, with trees 15 ft apart, my straps are at 70 inches (give or take) I also know that for every ft further apart, I...
Gotta ask. How much does it weigh? How big is it? Looks like maybe 12 x 12?
Safety says a good rule of thumb is 5 times your weight, so I'd say No, it isn't sufficient for you. Dynamic loads, such as when you first sit in your hammock and move into sleeping position, place...
As I now live in Florida, and am buying a house next month, I don't think I will make the Hang, but I will try to donate so the price break is available to all. I'll need a reminder in July.
item here There are others at Lowe's. up to the $500 wooden one that looks really nice, but...$500? I can plant 2 really nice, mature, trees for that price.
I bought a few small sizes of wired stopper nuts for just this purpose. I think I have 4, up to a size 6. Relatively cheap compared to cams.
Looooong tree straps. :)
Well, I was going to go to this hang, and was planning on bringing the wife also, but life has gotten in the way once again. By the time this hang takes place, I will be moving out of state. I am...
Shipped out. Thanks to the mods for locking this thread.
I nearly forgot how fast items can go here. I do have a PM from Jayson, so as soon as he gets me an address I will send them out. Should that fall through, I will contact Mattyoc20 next. I will...
These are the ones that use your pad to make a chair. I bought them several years ago and might have used them 3 times. I think it is time to find them a nicer home. You pay shipping, I will not...
I primarily backpack with my hammock, so I use my 25" wide neoair between the layers of my WBBB dbl. I do underinflate it, and I also bring my sit pad into the hammock with me. I place the pad...
I have many week long trips already logged in the Grand Canyon, and have hammocked in a few places where the rock provided a place to insert small nuts and chocks. Mostly, the terrain just isn't...
Funny, I have no problems keeping my 25 inch wide pad in place under me, and I sleep on my back also. I do not inflate the pad all the way, in fact only about 1/2 way. I then place it as far down...
Most of us here use thin stakes that make it easier to drive in with a foot. If you are using something like those plastic ones, find yourself some new stakes.
I used it down to 35, and felt no C.B.S. Sorry, but nothing lower than that for me.
XL standard Neo, in a WBBB dbl.
I used a sleeping bag as a top quilt for a couple of years. Zip the foot box shut up to about 20 inches, and let the rest of it open out like a blanket. I still use a pad under me, but I have a...
Get a 20* set, since it will work for 10* below what you plan for. As for camping in the weather warmer than that, lots of things can be done. $10 cheap fleece liner from some cheapo big box store...
I'll take the remaining set. Will PayPal as soon as you PM me your info.
BTW, " means inches while ' is for feet. Just saying. :)
Aug 9, 10, 11. Marking it on my calendar now. No promises.
I was looking at the valley cameras over the weekend and wondered why I wasn't there myself. Nice photos.
I just came back from a week long trip in the Everglades. I used a pad under me, in between the 2 layers of my WBBB, and a 40* top quilt from UnderGround Quilts. Worked very well for me, and I...
NM Just realized they are zip offs, and I hate that feature.
Side to side, spooning as it were, works out just fine, even with some "dynamic stress testing". Subjects totaled about 375 in a dbl 1.7. Sorry, no pics or vid.
more pictures added to the album, from my bud's camera.

Those platform decks are where we needed to sleep. All other surfaces were not suitable. I knew I might not be able to hang at every site, so I brought an old tent for just such an occasion. Like...
We carried 8 gallons each, for the 9 days. Ended up only using 4 each. I edited the post to add the rest of the pics in the album linked at the end.
My favorite. Look closely in the shadows at...
I am 6'1" and 215. I originally bought the 1.7 dbl, but now use the 1.1 dbl.
I just got back from a Florida trip where we kayaked 103 miles from Everglades City to Flamingo. We used chickees at Crooked Creek, Oyster Bay, and South Joe. We also used ground sites at Darwin's...
I will not make the Winter hang, but like last year, I have gear that can be borrowed by anyone driving past Salem. Large tarps, snowshoes, 15* WM Ponderosa which makes a wonderful TQ even if it is...
yep, I got some from Lowe's when they delivered 3 bundles of decking a couple of years ago. I kept some and gave some away.
