That looks like a simple but great mod, [emoji108]

Another way to solve all the risk of wall damage is to fix 2x4's to the wall at either end of the hammock just as you'd expect, but the bit that takes away the risk of damage is a sturdy brace...
Good setup and thanks for the details

Getting rid of all air in the mattress is key to this process, the rolling or even folding is easy and results in a compact parcel, how you get air out depends on your choice, you can pump it out...
That's what I've done and it works well [emoji41]

My pad stays in place between hammock layers is comfy and warm, I guess the downside of a pad could be moisture, but I don't suffer from it

The whole thing is a very good design, I guess there will be tweaks as time progresses and it would be good if you kept this post up to date,
I built a similar thing but incorporated the ground...

Fantastic idea, makes it all so simple to set up,
I presume you regularly check for wear and tear of all permanent attachments, we all get complacent with "out of sight out of mind" senarios,

I have played with quite a few setups now and have a loft full of gear, This is my current setup that i'm using to hang my Hammock, seems to work and is now well tested.
Basically it is a follows,...
I have three Tenth Wonder Hammocks ( one regular and two xl ) really pleased with them(lot of use), I use a very short piece of the original rope in the gathered ends with a lanyard knot (feel this...
Good point well made
I saw this and tried it sucessfully using a linen bed sheet as a temporary hammock, but it would be fine for a permanent solution, dead easy, no stitching and doesn't slip,

This breaks the trend a bit, I use a luminous type of paracord, holds up a british army basha no problem, never had an issue with stretch either, I tie an evenk one end and a trucks hitch the other,...
I personally use whoopie slings onto tree webbing, with a marlin spike hitch and toggle, but I can see lots of uses for this method, one being a stuctural ridgeline.
I make most of my kit and will...
Made some whoopie slings using these photos, much easier to follow than a written description, Thanks very much Jeff
You've all been supportive, must be nice to have legal hanging sites unlike the UK, I have camped and hung in some strange places recently,

I was interested in wild camping (tents etc), wanted to branch out alittle and lighten my load, and while looking on ebay for a bivvy bag I stumbled across hammocks for sale, spent some money from a...
Hi,
I'm new to forums and fairly new to Hammock wild camping (about a year now),
I camp as often as I can and treat it as quality time with my older lads (31 & 28)
I only have a tenth wonder xl...
