I'll be there and I'll make the Gumbo, but I'm not planning it!
I'll leave that to you Islander, Damifino, Sunny's_Trike, Mad777 and Flackfizer! Besides I'd hate to mess with perfection. You guys...
I'm sure we can work something out!;) It won't be my Gumbo because for now I want to keep that exclusive for the 2nd Annual Florida Hang, but I'll come up with something just as tasty and memorable.
I'm thinking that by then it would be rare, freakish weather to see temps in the 30's, but then..it is Florida, anything is possible.
Average high in March is around 78 degrees. Average low is 56....
It was this report that eliminated for me the use of Campsites 4 and 5 when I began planning this trip. I think there are a lot of folks who paddle over and party for the day from the nearby JB's...
Is there interest in a community meal one or more of the days? Any suggestions? Requests?
This hang will take place after daylight saving time begins. Sunset is will be near 7:30 p.m., allowing...
Not to say I'm hoping it falls through, but it sure would make delivery of another boatabag convenient!

I have an extra ENO Dry Fly you can use if you need it.
No worries there! I'm looking forward to meeting you and picking your brain about some of your past travels. You've been to a few places I'm itching to get to myself!

Just got back from the scouting trip. It was a bit windy out there. I'll give more details later but here the summary.
Site 1: Not as used as other sites. Very near the kayak/canoe launch and...
The boats are loaded and the Rhino is charged! Tomorrow I'll be out scouting. I'll provide GPS locations for the launch and camp sites for future use if anyone wants that info.

I've never had to consider if it would be tough for a longer yak. Our longest is only 13.5. I'll take a closer look at the trail this week and give you a more definitive answer.
Here is the a...
I'll be going out on Thursday to scout the sites on Orange Island (campsites 1 & 2). I've heard that they have lots of shade, (which I take to mean plenty of trees) but want to check them myself.

Well if you like paddling there is a kayak/canoe trail that weaves through some mangroves. I'm planning to paddle it myself during the time we are there.
Here is the link for Canaveral National...
True about the reservations but a bit of careful planning can ensure you get the camp you want. I'll start calling 12 days from the start of our trip to check availability, if it starts to get...
Site 5 from what I understand is often used by the locals as well since it's very near the boundaries of the Seashore. I recall reading somewhere else that particular site was not as clean as others....
Excellent! Those dates won't change. It's the only time my husband really has free between now and Easter.
Well for us all of April is out due to other commitments. February I have guests nearly all month. Livia's brother is coming to visit from Italy.
I hope you can make it Islander. If not I'm sure...
Nope. It's a hanging trip!:)
There are trees to hang from. Not on every campsite but I can name four that you could easily hang on.
Sites 6,8,9 and 11 are able to support hangers. Maybe not 50...
Looking at the calendar, March 24-27 is going to be the best time for a long weekend at Canaveral National Seashore. Anyone else interested in joining Tim and I that weekend?
