"... Size large specs are as follows: Fits waist/hips: 31 - 51in."

Not a problem...

The Trigon Pack is a medium belt and fit me back in the days of my 32" to 34" waist.

The REI pack is a large belt.

I'm a 40" - 41" inch waist myself and it fit fine.
