Who has a 0 degree HG Phoenix that has been sitting in their closet being all sad and unloved? I can give it a good home.

Tarp is sold.
Here is my lightly used grey Hammock Gear DCF (Cuben Fiber) Hex Hammock Tarp with 2 grey Hammock Gear DCF sleeves. Micro-biner and Dutchware Tarp Flyz on 1.75 Samson Lash-It (grey) continuous...
I've found my prusiks to hold solid even in strong winds with big gusts. I find that occasionally I need to redress (work out any slack) in the prusik. FWIW I'm using 1.75mm Lash-It for both the...
Waaay back in early 2014 I purchased a couple inexpensive (cheap!) guide gear tarp and cohglan's seam sealer and it has held up exceptionally well. The tarp in question has been hanging in my yard...
The top-end of the hammock that is made from a different material (brown in color) is not load bearing. Either 2qzq or hk2001 can replace this. Probably you can too.
Frankly I would be surprised to find a better solution than the soft shackle/prusik combo:

As always thanks for sharing Shug. Can't tell you how happy I was to see you ramble down the Long Trail. The Long Trail was my first long distance backpacking experience, is where I earned my...

I documented my 2014 Long Trail end-to-end which was done in entirety with my hammock. While I decided not to publish my journal in 2015 I did a SOBO thru of the AT using Dutch's Half-Wit hammock.
Looks like it did not have sufficient stud penetration. I used #14 3" SPAX and these D-Ring Tie Downs.
Both Yukon and myself have done LT end-to-ends using a hammock, as I'm sure countless others here have. My wife and son hiked the first 60 or so miles with me both in hammocks, no problem whatsoever.
My 11' Zpacks tarp w/ doors has seen me through a Long Trail End to End, an AT thru, BMT section and countless other overnights.
Your tapered ends should end up buried. Their appearance prior to that shouldn't be of any concern.
I've seen some people use Velcro wire ties: https://goo.gl/9C9AIn
I keep my tarp in a cuben stuff sack. At night I put wet clothes in the stuff sack and take it in the hammock with me. That way I only have to put on wet clothes, not cold, wet clothes. If you wake...
FWIW I'm a 2015 MEGA. I used my HG 40 degree Burrow & Incubator from July 3rd until early October at which point I used a 20 degree HG Burrow & custom length Incubator until finish on the 30th of...

I always keep a small CCF sit pad with me. When push my insulation below it's comfort rating I put the sit pad under my butt/lower back. Rarely I get a little condensation.

Any field tests? Curious to hear how it worked?
Thanks WV! Glad to see this quilt is going to a good home!
78" long, 50" at the head and 40" at the foot. Here is the video for V2: I believe this is the V3, it's one of the very last ones she made. Same color as the one seen in the video.

I can weigh it later tonight when I get home.
Your lightly used 30 degree LeighLo TQ in green/black will be shipped CONUS for $170. I hate to see this quilt go but it's been used a less than a handful of times. Includes storage sack. Stored...
It's a Speer PeaPod I picked it up used at less than half price a while back. I use it when temperatures are expected to drop bellow -10 in tandem with my UQ/TQ. To answer your question, it attaches...
Think of them as two hammocks sewn together with about a two foot slot on the side near the head/foot end where you can slide a pad into.
Yes, they really hold pads in place. Never tried reflectix...
I'm sure Brandon will honor second hand purchases.
Zukiguy and Rain Man summed it up well. My personal favorite summer UQ is Wilderness Logistics Summer Series torso length quilt. Provides warmth down to about 50 degrees and mosquito protection for...
I don't use anything until the temps drop well below zero. When they do I use a neoprene face mask and hat.

I pushed my 20 degree Phicubator down to 4F wearing mid-weight base layer, fleece and footpad where the only real discomfort was when my foot shifted off the footpad. I pitched my tarp very low with...
I would be concerned that the larger quills from the feathers would poke through your quilt and the down would follow behind. If your down is a low fill power it's probably safe to assume it already...
A number of members here have completed AT thru-hikes using a hammock. I completed my SOBO thru in 2015 using the following kit:
Dutchware Half-wit 1.0 w/ 5 foot tree huggers: ~15oz
Z-Packs tarp...

Broke! Snapped the Zing It right where it makes the hard bend around the flyz. I'm curious how much a hard bend on a hard surface like that derates the rope. I was surprised to the stitching on the...
I had about 8" of heavy stuff pull the tarp to the ground, accumulate enough weight to snap the 1.8mm zing it CRL. Luckily the Zing It gave away and not the tarp. FWIW the Zing It let go on the hard...
