Awesome Millarky! That calculator is just what I needed - I'll go for the 9' and send pics when I get it set up.
Thanks again :)
Thanks for the answers, and for the pic chorpie - that tarp has a lot of tie outs!
I'm not worried about the weight as this will be for car camping only. The reason I'm considering the 12' is that...
Hey everyone,
I'm putting together my hammock rig and someone just gave me a gift certificate for REI. I thought I'd use it to get a Noahs Tarp - but I am undecided whether to get the 9' square or...
Interested to read this thread, since I'm gearing up for summer. I am a side sleepers with broad shoulders and sleep with two stacked pillows at home, so I'm wondering if any of these pillows are...
Definitely going to consider this - a great buy! I use some very similar cord for tent guylines when I'm car camping and I love it -- no more tripping over guy lines in the dark.
Hey Ohio -- good to have another Midwesterner around. Hope to hang with you in the future!
Trees not a problem here in Michigan -- signed in, thanks Flatline. :)
Thanks - I love her, but she's using up all my hammock money! :D Right now I'm teetering between the Blackbird Double 1.7 and the Switchback Double 1.9...

After seeing Medicine Man's report I can start to see the wisdom of the 3/4 and the pad so you could go to ground in an emergency....more to think about.
Well as a newb hanger and obsessive lurker on the site I've been pondering the same question for my first setup. I'm a hot sleeper generally so there's a part of me that thinks the 3/4 would be a...
This interests me, but I can't seem to find out the temperature rating of the underquilt (I even looked on the TTTG website). also, I can't find any info on the top quilt.
could you let us know...
Thanks for the update -- I'm very tempted by the Switchback.
From what I've read (guess I'm just a paper hanger right now!) you need a tarp that can adequately cover the 10' length. I saw...
I've got my eye on one of those puppies, too! Any problems getting the hang angle (hangle?:))right without a structural ridgeline?
Hey Opie, fellow Michigander here thinking about gettin' myself a SB. Wonder if you cracked the code on the structural ridgeline yet?
Thanks
