Groovy man! Looks great!
Kelty makes a 16 ft tarp,I believe, that is YUGE! Would work great for two people. I don't own any Kelty Noah tarps and recently have sworn off Kelty products due to poor customer service, but I know...
No worries  I never use it and I'm sure it annoys the heck out of certain posters
No but I have enjoyed the hammock I purchased from them through Amazon. The quality is much better than you would expect. I would expect their tarps to maintain the same quality.
Just ordered. Thanks for the heads up.
Welcome from Brasstown. I own a bunch of land off Fodders Creek in Hiawassee. Are you from that area or further from the NC/GA state line?
Every time I see a thread about the Yeti quilt, for a brief moment I think, Whaaaa!? Now you can get a quilt with my cooler!?
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing it with us. Do you also post on TD? Just curious as I do and I remember a thread there about a first time trip to Eagles Rock Loop.
Welcome from little ole Brasstown. Home of the possum drop.
The Les situation is a tough one. I am a graduate as well and it is always a good trip to Starkville. People there love their Bulldogs. And cow bells!
Welcome from the Western NC mountains. I am originally from Baton Rouge. Big LSU fan and I was recently in Starkvegas for the Moo State game. Hope you stick around! Lots to be learned here.
Glad to hear they were caught. And hopefully fined so much they were forced to sell their ATVs. Looks like weather will be rough this weekend so I'm going to hike what you suggested. Hopefully she...
Both of those places are fantastic. I had considered Max Patch, but a friend of mine told me it's over run with idiots and their beer/ATV's now. I love beer and ATV's but neither should be at Max...
Anyone know of any good places to hammock camp for noobs in this area? My girlfriend has been begging me to go on trip and this weekend I'm going to take her. As this will be her first true...
I'd suggest Fires Creek in Murphy, NC. You can camp right along the creek and fly fish all you want. I wasn't fly fishing, but I caught some decent sized trout last weekend there and barely walked...
Count me in!
I've been a member of this great forum for a while now, but I recently moved to Hiawassee, GA and wanted to say hello to everyone again in hopes of connecting with people in the area. I'm currently...
Just curious, but why are you selling a used hammock for ten dollars more than you can get brand spanking new from warbonnet guy himself? I'm assuming whoppie slings have been added. Anything else?
Where are you going in the Ozarks? And have you camped at Claiborne yet?
[QUOTE=Ewker;1254806]I have to agree on bridge hammocks. They are the way to go. Keep a lookout on the boards because you will see warbonnets bridge hammock for sale.
if you have sewing skills...
I'm glad you posted this regarding the lite hiker. It's a hammock I've always liked and now I'll be sure to research the switchback instead.
Not that I've noticed. I considered weight gain but I haven't gained any weight. It's really strange. I'm lending it to my brother who is almost the exact same weight and height to see if he...
Not sure. I'll inspect tonight and let ya know.
Whatever the cause is, I'm happy for all the great trips I had with it. It was and is a great hammock just not for me anymore. The three hammocks you suggested are shorter than the WBBB. Maybe that's...
I'm not selling it. I'm "retiring" it for a while. After a few months and trips with a different GE hammock, I will do just as you suggested and see if it was more mental than physical. I really...
In my original post I stated I didn't do anything different and yes, if a piece of gear is not operating like it used to I will move on after trying to remedy the problem without success. Also, a...
I'm considering a bridge hammock. I've heard good things about the ridge runner and the JRB bridge hammock. I'm not too concerned with weight as long the extra weight is worth it.
It seems unlikely to me as well, but I've gone through every known solution to fix the issue and none work. I've yet to find time for a group hang and will be at one as soon as my schedule permits. I...
Absolutely! Gives me hope for humanity after all lol
I always hung with the foot end slightly elevated so when it happened, I raised it even further. Didn't help unfortunately.
Sent. Thanks man!
I think you are correct. Never expected that.
My height is 5'8 and I weigh about 160. That would be awesome if you let me try out one of your hammocks. Where are you located?
I'm a huge Wilderness Logic fanboy so I may go with the snipe or another variation they offer. The tree to tree trail gear lite hiker looks awesome! I'm open to any and all suggestions.
In September of 2011, after much research and too many hours spent watching Shugs, Caveman and many others videos, I decided to make the switch from tent to hammock. After much consideration I...
There should be a logo stitched into one corner. That logo, when right side up, should be in the bottom right corner of the tarp. That's the topside.
I should probably have tried to sell these in August haha. I'll drop to $40!
Just want to gauge interest on these two fleece jackets I have. Both are women sizes!
Brown, medium size $50
Black, small size $50
I've had my 1.7 DL for well over two years now and have NEVER had this problem. I'm an experienced hanger and have tried all the known remedies (at least the ones I have read here) for calf ridge...
Looks like that will work. I to, use a modified turtle dog stand but I'm having some issues with it. Really all you need to worry about with those stands is distance from each anchor point. I bought...
I'm in! Where's my lucky dice...
Same here. Ruston is a nice place. I spend a lot of time at Lake Claiborne.
Nice. Where was that taken?
Are you putting the pad between the layers of your hammock? If you're using a pad I'm assuming you're also using a sleeping bag. Try putting the pad inside the sleeping bag with you instead of...
Looks great. I especially like those ancient ruins in the background.
Anyone ever done it? I've been wanting to go on safari for a long time and I'm finally going to do it. I know that for two nights we'll be staying way out in the bush in a designated camping area...
Two words. Open carry. I agree that most people you encounter in the back country are good people and most likely not thieves. However, you really don't know. For me, the greatest deterrent of...
What a nice area. The OHT has been on my list for a while. After seeing these pictures it might be time to go ahead and plan the trip. Have you hiked the BHT?
Looks like a great trip. I'm a huge fan of Wilderness Systems. Love my tarpon 120. Some of my best hangs have been paddling trips in my yak.
Tadpole is my favorite, go to tarp. When you finally do get your thunderstorm in your hammock under the tadpole you'll be thoroughly impressed.
