Hi all,
As the title ^^. Is anyone out there selling a HG CAMO Dyneema Fiber Palace Tarp or Standard Tarp with Doors?
Shipping would be to the UK. I will obviously cover postage costs.
Many...
Great vid, thank you :)
It has brought back many happy memories of a wonderful holiday we spent in Iceland. I remember my jaw dropping at the scenery nearly every day. Pillow lava fields, iceberg...
Having spent most of the summer keeping our respective families occupied, Snozz & I decided to head off for a bit of adventure. Making a departure from our usual hanging trips, we decided to Bivi in...
Lol, that was my second thought Pete :)
Congratulations Shewie :)
Hi Dave, welcome to HF :)
Bump............
Now found a copy :)
Thanks
Just an update!
A handful of trips out in sun wind and rain, the tarp is as good as new. Man I love this tarp :)
James
Hi all,
A long shot i know! Having just borrowed Shewie's Trailstar & researched making my own, i have realised buying one would be the easier option :)
So, does anyone out there have a...
Lol, you might just have opened the floodgates :)
A very generous offer, thanks.
Oh yes :) it'll keep me dry in everything the great British summer can throw at me :)
Well, it's been torture!
I took delivery of my HG Custom Cuben tarp way back in the autumn of last year, but for one reason or another, couldn't fit a hang in to try it out :(
Finally, a couple...
Matt is a top bloke, I've bought hammocks, quilts etc from him in the past, even been for a cup of tea at his workshop. A* rating from me :)
Thanks, but I was never any good at German. I think i'll start saving the pennies.
I wouldn't mind, but there isn't even a digital version anywhere either.
Hi all,
I'm really getting into my carving at the moment, but want to take it to the next level. I know it's a long shot, but i'm having no luck in tracking down a copy of Willie Sundqvist's...
Looks great, do you have a rad lab coat too? ;)
Yes, but it's under-used, largely unknown and forgotten. It's a symptom of the human computer interface that your average user can't be bothered with a two click function.
Disregarding the...
How would this work? If, a "like" count was present at the top right of the thread header, than I think that would be ok. If you just got a stream of posts saying "like" cluttering up the thread,...
That's just what I did :) it arrived a couple if weeks ago now & haven't had chance to even hang it in the yard!
Mainly because the missus doesn't know I've ordered it :)
Hi Simon, bout time you signed up here, welcome to HF :)
I have a peapod and have been down to 19f with just a regular 20f sleeping bag inside. I was way too hot and ended off opening the peapod to ventilate.
Hellooo from a very wet & flooded Yorkshire :)
I have my Dangerbird fitted with nano-seeum and was on the same trip as Shewie & Dutch and had no problem with midges getting through.
But, because of nano-seeum's sheerness (is this even a...
I have some 1.1mm dyneema reflective guy-line from PiCharPak. Its very similar to the LiteTrail GLine, but this has a reflective thread woven into it so it reflects at night :)
Well done buddy :)
I know a lot of hard work has gone into those 10,000 units, but it is greatly appreciated by hangers from across the globe, ACROSS THE GLOBE! how cool is that?
Keep having...
Over the years i have tried several different ways of rigging my tarp, yet none of them have been perfect - for me :)
I have tried bungee cords, mini line locks etc, but am still looking for...
Hi Snozz, between HF & BCUK, you'll never be off the computer :)
Thanks again for organising this hang Shewie. The scenery was breathtaking and the company & banter made it a great few days. Also great to meet you Dutch & turnerminator (Teepee) - Top blokes both...
+ 1. I'm 225lbs and the 1.7 is great :)
Pm sent regarding:
2. Bushbuddy Ultra 4.8 oz, great condition. $85
I'm #59, never gonna happen :)
Cheers Womble :)
#59 here.
Can I ask what the difference is between the noseeum & the nanoseeum?
I assume the DB comes as standard with the noseeum, which is fine for mozzies etc, but will it keep the Midges out?...
For me: ham-mk, said quickly of course! it's probably a Yorkshire thing :)
True, true. The real world IS different to lab tests and, for 99.9% of people they won't have any issues.
Just like I've never had any problems with my sylnylon tarp - but some have. At least you...
If you look towards the middle of the bottom graph, there are some more sub 1oz that seem to score better when new, but of the 10 sub 1oz cuben samples tested, only 2 seem to pass the "rainproof"...
Sorry David, maybe i should have chosen my words more carefully...
These threads make interesting reading though:
...
There was a thread a while back, ( if I can find it, I'll add a link here), discussing the hydrostatic head figure for cuben. Some reports indicate it is quite low & not as waterproof as some tents!...
Hi Jon, what hammock are you using? I had a DD Travel hammock, which can double as a bivi/tent, because it's waterproof, I had problems with it not breathing, I used to wake up soaked.
I've used it for prussiks onto my lash-it ridge line. Works a treat :)
Hmmm, I wonder how many "my cuben tarp's not waterproof anymore" threads there will be in 12 months time!
I think I might just bide my time for a while & see what transpires...
Tell me about it! I'm still none the wiser...
One site i've looked at states a 3000mm hydrostatic head, but worryingly, the (below) thread on backpacking light shows otherwise! It starts off with a failure at 422mm.
If you're willing to read...
Interesting idea, but do you need an extra wide tarp to cover your feet & head...
LOL, I love the fact that you're getting ribbed about those shoes by both sides of the Atlantic Rich :)
I caved in, I've just ordered the superfly :)
Yes! You've obviously enjoyed the wuthering heights experience :)
Thanks for the heads-up chaps :) I think I'm going to go for a Superfly :)
