I use a cheap, light weight, nylon net hammock. It's multi-purpose for me. I hang it under my hammock at night for gear storage & use it as a hammock chair the rest of the time.

I use a 3/4 length 20* DIY UQ to augment my 0* HG Incubator for very cold temps. Used this set up for most of this winter with an UQP.
6'2".......full length 0* Incubator for the cold. 3/4 length 20* DIY for 3 season use & to augment the other in really cold temps.

I'm in & congrats on reaching the 'Big G'! If I'm the lucky 1, I will also be gifting to a ground dweller who has finally agreed to try it for camping.
Happy birthday! With all the activities & delish food planned, I'm really bummed to be missing this. Would have been my 1st group hang. Alas.....I'm heading to Boston in an hour for a different...

Entered thanks.......nice gesture on your part!
+1 on these. I have 2 pair & use them on my HH Hex. Increases the internal roominess nicely. Especially nice with the doors (thanks 2QZQ!) closed in this coldness we're having here now.
I've tried my best to get a date change made, but have failed. Due to an unexpected & unwanted medical issue, I have surgery scheduled in Boston for Jan. 8th. This puts me out of the game for the...

Welcome to HF.....from the "Wilds of western Mass!" You will want to use some straps around the trees. They save you from the slipping you've experienced, but more importantly, they save the trees...
My only mode of transportation is a motorcycle. And, unless I'm doing some bushcraft/self reliance/survival stuff, my only way to sleep in camp is with a hammock. Welcome to HF......from the "Wilds...

Another option for you. I don't use hiking/trekking poles myself. I use a single walking staff....thus my 'Tri-Pod Bob' moniker. When I set up in "porch mode", I use the staff & a piece of...

Really good to hear, Keith! The happiest of holiday joy to you & yours. Peace......
