Welcome from Lexington
Ok guys I want to get an overnighter together next month at my spot in the Clifty Wilderness. Everyone I met this past weekend was awesome and would love to hang with all of you again
Well I got to try out the Sheltowee Hammock Company's 20degree hammock last night. All I say is amazing. There will be a video review coming soon.
I use the GT Funky Forest tarp, the GT Athh(as a tarp) over my SBPRO
Thanks for putting all this together CorrosiveCookie. Had blast the "KICKIN CHICKEN" was amazing, actually all the chickens were great. It was nice meeting everyone and we'll definitely hand together...
Yes we do
Gonna miss you Scott
I'll be there Saturday morning
Gonna keep my eye on this. Haven't been to group hang in a long time
Also I have been into hammocks for many years. I don't really have to sleep in one to give a review. I have been around enough hammocks to be able to tell if the concept is going to work or not.
I am posting a review of the concept of the hammock. I was able to take pics of it and it looks to me to be a great concept.
I actually got a chance to look at one of these hammocks this past weekend. It is a very nice concept and looks to be well designed. Plan on writing a review of the hammock and company and posting it...
I know I have not posted much on here lately, but have been real busy at work as well as learning more about my other hobby I picked up last year, fly fishing, hopefully will be posting more soon as...

Here is a pic of the no sew SPE I made.
Stormcrow, Thorwren and Finn took pics my camera died before I was able to take any.
Well went for a much needed overnighter this past Saturday. Headed to Red River Gorge here in KY to do a little hanging and fly fishing. Was joined by a few great members of these Forums. Stormcrow,...
Welcome from Lexington. I actually hike and camp Caney Loop around Cave Run a lot. That is one of my favorite trails at Cave Run. We may need to hang together down there sometime.
Yep. My suspension line snapped and land right on my back.
Welcome to the forums from another hammocker in Lexington.
Here is a little video I shot in a recent camping/ fly fishing trip with Bonsaihiker to Red River Gorge, Ky. It has some views from our site, but the main purpose was to show the Grand Trunk ATHH...
After seeing Bonsaihiker wearing one this past weekend I want in on this.
We had a great time hanging and doing a little fly fishing. This video shows some of the views from our site and modifications I made to my Grand Trunk Goods ATHH where I added extra tie outs to add...
Packed up and ready to go. See ya tomorrow Scott.
We can meet at the Shell around 10.
I was thinking 15th and 16th. Have to do a bunch of stuff on Friday, but if I get done early enough on Friday I may head down there then.
Red River Gorge is located here in Kentucky around the cities of Slade and Campton. It is Kentucky's land of Arches.
Taking a few personal days from work next week and am planning to go to Rdd River Gorge for a short trip. Will probably hit the Swift Camp trail from the Lower Swift Camp Creek trailhead. I am also...
So you're from around Columbia? Maybe?
Nice. I like it, that trip was a long time ago.
I'm 6' tall and 210-215lbs. I can sleep very comfortably in my Nano
7.
Welcome from Lexington.
Welcome from Lex, Ky. Is your trip going to in Green River?
Welcome aboard from Lex, Ky.
I have never tried the WBBB, but I do use my SBPro alot and love the thing. It is so roomy.
Well I was looking forward to my overnighter this weekend, but at the last minute I was told I had to work since my boss is off and we are short handed. This really sucks to be told 2 days before you...
Have you had a look at their(GT) new bug net? http://store.grandtrunkgoods.com/hammocks/hammock-mosquito-net.
Here is a view of Cave Run lake here in Ky from my Nano7.

And another hanging from a dock and back of a...
Yep Love my Nano7 as well.
I think they need to do the documentary with both of you guys. Now that would be a documentary worth watching.
Yeah the SBPro is a very wide hammock. I tend to lay at a diagonal in my to avoid the sides closing in in me. As far as tarp to go with it, I use either a GT FUNKY FOREST TARP or my ATHH(the All...
I am planning an overnighter for my 40th bday on May 25th at Cave Run Lake. If anyone is interested in joining I can give you directions.
Welcome from another Ky hanger.
Grand Trunk has a nice Silk Sleep Sack that use when it's real hot, but if it's gonna be a cooler night I use my poncho liner as a topquilt.
I have the Pro and it is pretty much my go to hammock. Mine is a little heavier since I modified it to a dbl layer using my first Pro when the netting ripped. But Im not to worried about weight.
If you are camping in the backcountry at Mammoth Cave, you will need a backcountry pass(which is free) from the visitor center. Also I believe you are only allowed to camp at designated sites. On the...
Welcome from Central Ky. Go to Mackey's any?
A big Ky welcome to ya.
Check out Grand Trunk Goods Skeeter Beeter Pro. It is very affordable and very roomy.
Car shield would be used like a pad and put inside of the hammock. An underquilt is used under the hammock and usually made like a blanket filled with down or a synthetic type insulation.
I don't climb in the sleeping bag this compresses the insulation under you and can cause CBS. I simply pull it iver top of me like a top quilt and it works great. As long as you have good under...
