While we were at the Central Washington Mid Winter Hang we tried our hands at making some cornbread on a mini cast iron skillet. Must say that we failed miserably.

I see I'm late to the party.
Buenos, how much snow is in the area? Just trying to figure out if I will be bringing a sled.
Our video from the Umtanum Creek Mid Winter Hang. I know it was so a month and a half ago, but I'm still working very long hours and I am very far behind on most things.. Anyway enjoy!

Late to the party as always... Sorry I haven't posted on the trip yet, but I'm still doing very long days with little to no days off.. This will change soon
This was a great trip. I love...
Buenos, That sucks you wont be there but thats life as we live it :) I will eat stew in your honor..
This is a hang for all of us. Buenos has been nice enough to put it all together for everyone...
At this point it looks like I'm in for all 3 days.. Still debating on a hot tent idea.. we will see..
Agreed.. could make most any date with a months (or so) advance notice.. But if we dont set one soon there will be no way I could get the time off in time.. Same goes for Kane.
Never mind my post... I thought UncleMJM asked a question not made a statment... Oh man I need more sleep...
Sounds like you are not using the tie outs. Make sure that the tie outs go through the side holes in the super shelter and pad even if you are not staking them to the ground. Helps hold it all...
I love hanging around the house....
I have been on the forums for 2 years now and was just a looker for about a year before that. I don't post much as I'm more of a reader than a poster. The wealth of information here is amazing and...
I had time to kill today and was going over some gear from my recent outing.. While sitting in my Hennessy in the garage I thought "why couldn't I use my Grabber all weather Space blanket as an over...
TallPaul.. That sounds like a good start to this problem.
whatever you do it is important to have a happy dog while hiking.. Does this look happy to you..

+1 on all of the above mentioned.. The answer to the space blanket is... Yes it will help. Don't buy a cheap dollar style.. I have found that the SOL survival blanket is the best for durability. I...
XTrekker has a point. How many people come on to the forums and ask the same question asked many times before. I know I have. Its just people nature now days to take the easy path and NOT use the...
barbermike, thats look awesome. I have been kicking around the idea of a mini dome style tent for a while now..
I remember my first night at 25 degrees.. froze my but off.. Learned a lot from that night.
I have a 70lb lab and he sleeps on the ground next to me. The hammock is piched so I can reach out and touch him or he can put his head in the hammock to wake me up.
Nice looking setup and temps right where I like them.. The more time you send in it outside the more you will get accustomed to it.

In this pic did you find all 4 hammocks? Its from the Western Washington mid winter hang.
Right on!! welcome to the club!
Just above that in the tall trees..
A couple of weeks ago Kane and I set off to intentionally make a day hike go bad. We armed our selfs with daypack materials.
Just never know when you might have to do this for real.

Don't give up. As already said, it takes time for some people to get to sleeping in a hammock. I leave a hammock up in the garage most of the time so my kids and wife can go down anytime to lay in...
Now you are getting me excited for some snow outings.. Come on.... Snow dang you...
That look awesome.. to bad my tendinitis is so bad
I have been messing with a packable version lately using tent poles. Boy does it make a tarp bigger.. Good job on the cpvc setup.
I saw it when it was first uploaded at 3am before the Youtube fix. Don't ever let Youtube fix your videos. It just messes most up.. I didn't think it was bad for a first run. As already said.....
Glad you had what you needed to take care of yourself. I feel your pain. I'm hypoglycemic and have had to push through a hike because I was not prepared.
Thats a good question. I have been using the Super shelter for almost 2 years now but have never tried the pad by its self. I have used the under cover alone in warm weather. The pad and under cover...
Stayed with my Aunt while on vacation in the Bay Area. She lives on Stanford property and every time we left the house I saw this HUGE dish on the hill side. this is an area open to Stanford and the...
Oh great.. Now the hammock secret is out. Now everyone will want to do it. JK! Great job making it in the news..
My brother was like that so I converted him..
we have had several hammocks hung this way without one problem.. Just make sure you are getting in the center of the stud. It should hold for years without a problem..

Good video my friend.. I have tried to lose someone on a trail before with no luck.. you make it look easy.
If its from Joanne's, I'm willing to bet it's a 4.5c. Look on the back of the pull and see if it says 4.5c on it. Seattle Fabrics has pulls from #3 on up. you can go right on their sight and order...
Now you make me want to go out an practice my fly fishing skills.. haven't tried Tenkara style fishing yet.
Sounds like a blast.. good luck on your trip. can't wait to see the video.
First off, this is set as a mermorial video for my father that passed in February.
Bathtub lakes are set high in the hills between Pinnacle lake and Mt Pilchuck. This is also known as the east...
I know I haven't posted in a while, but at least this one should be a good one.. Set of for Mt Pilchuck for a quick one nighter to see the sunset and sunrise.. Hung our hammocks right in the...
What beautiful coastline... Makes me miss the south..

Good luck on your trip
As far as cameras go. I think the gopro is good for action or respective angles, but not really for everyday use. Yes it does have a wide angel lens (135 I...
Great video as always. I'm jealous of the weather you have. Its still snowing in our hills and looks like we are going to have record breaking rainfall for the month too. This weather is getting old...
Hey thanks rodwolfy. Having people enjoy our videos keeps us doing them.
Buenos, Thanks for the recipe. Your stew is the best!
Oh BTW, I have someones blue camp chair with built in side table. It was left there and I figured most of the attendees don't live all that far so would be easy to return.
Sorry for the delay getting this out. My father passed away 2 days before this trip. Although a month ago, it has taken that long to get everything back on track.
Well here ya go Part 1 and 2 of...
