gmcttr: How big is that thing, about 3/4" by 1 1/4 by 3/16?
I think that Nano 23 by camp are about $7.

I agree with opie and Mrclean that there are a great number of specifications and that I may be getting it wrong, but that in most cases if you make one and it is off by a little do not through it...
DraicKin: Sorry that I'm to slow. You could have ordered it from Sherrill tree. Zing it and dynaglide is throw line for tree climbers.
1 1/4 Fids or about 3"

The number that are quoted are all over the map. For a straight bury it should be about 40 times the diameter of the line, so 5" should be good for 1/8" or smaller.
I think if you keep the wire the same size (or just a little bigger) as the line size you should be ok. I have not bent one yet, but I would never say that it cann't be done. It hold very well for...
bkrownd: After you used it a few times its hard to slow down. The line that is wrapped around get pinch between the wire and the line going into the wire that is looped over the tail.
Redoleary: You can all most get to work, if you put the line through so that it exits so the line will wrap the loop that is pulled over the tail. But it will not unwrap nice. The last bit hangs...
That would work, but I made them out of aluminum wire. The one on the left is 8 gauge and the one on the right is 12 gauge.
Please critique.

Ok what I'm trying to say the tie off is wrapping. It is like shanking a flat button.
TFC Rick:I like video and agree with how to attach, but to tie off. If you pull the line all the way to the start and pull it under so that it gets trapped under the plate. If this is the plate....
Red : I do not think you need to cut into the 1/2" hole. If you lay the piece over the line and pull a loop up thru the hole and over the cleat side, that would attach it to the line.
wwk10: how about a chain link.
I think you are pulling on the tail. For the whoopie to work the load need to stretch the bury (making the bury ID smaller). This is how the friction is made. A bury length of 72 dia. is commonly...
Browny: If you look at Angry Sparrow pic. to reverse engineer the dime is 18mm in dia. I think you get some thing like 4mm wall then 4mm hole for the hook the 4mm wall 3mm hole 4mm wall 3mm hole and...
Ok! I'm sitting here reading this and I had a brain fart. How about I use some thing that look like "Q". Put the the Q over the line come off the tap pull a loop thru the center and over the tail...
Sorry! Your whoopie should work fine. You need to milk the bury after you set the length.
refond: It's you. Please stay in a padded room, so you do not hurt your self.

WV: Here is a video on making the soft shackle with a lanyard knot.

Dutch: I can not find it. I was reading in an arborist tree climbing form that 5 passes thru the rope (like 2 S's in series) was an acceptable way to spice in the field. It was tested to be the same...
Metolius FS mini is also 23grm. You could make a soft shackle.
dejoha: Thanks for the vid. If you made one of the pole shorter that would pitch the tarp plane and maybe that would get the rain to run off.
This set up look like what was at Burning Man about 1998 or 1999. Its just a hammock set up with out trees. The only cute thing is that by adding 1 pole they could now hang 3. They used the 2X4's at...
Like Ken stated it is easy to undo, and it i simple to make. Start by making a "S" , grab the top end, make 2 turns around the lower loop (under over under over), pull the top loop up and over the 2...
I bury about 2" into the end (back splice). For a loop knot I like the double dragon.
Giddyup: How much different is this to Utility Constrictor Rope set up?
chees:The adjustable grip hitch should work just fine if is precisely set before you get into your hammock. I would use Blake's hitch. If it is sufficient for the people that gave use whoopie...
islander: If you look at his 1st video at about 5min. you'll see the zipline trolley on Shug's backpack.
Has anyone set there stand up with the poles (struts) starting with a X (other than over under over under over) the with the third under the X? Like Snelson's X form....
I have been motivated to make a hybrid. So 3hr.s with a coping saw and file and here it
