Bump, and lowering price to $80, shipping included for contiguous 48.
Brand new. Never been set up. This is Clark's biggest tarp in Jungle Green. 120", 18 oz. No guy lines included. $90, shipping in the contiguous US included. Happy to ship to Alaska, Hawaii or...
Hi, Tom. Tracker 87 is picking the whole shebang up tomorrow.

Buyer and I have been in touch. He will be purchasing hammock and quilts. Pickup is scheduled for tomorrow. I will update posting after that.

Unclear at this point. I PMd this morning with that question. Haven't received a response.

I purchased a second hammock a few years back for my sons to use. I duplicated my own system, as I know how well it works, so I first had them use my hammock a few times on trips with friends so they...
It's a generalist magazine. They're not speaking to a niche audience, just covering a trend. That's why researching on web forums is SO much better than relying on the "experts."
As above, I put shoes and water bottle on the ground under my hammock. Nearly every thing else is in my gear hammock or in the hammock with me.
Thanks so much!
BF,
Looks great! I hace a friend WHO is looking for a pattern. Do you hace such that you'd be willing to share?
Another possibility is that your bury is too "short". I've seen 10" as recommended length. If it's shorter than that it might not hold solidly.

It's in ny favorites and one of the ideas is mine.
Not whoopie slings, really, but bearchaser's single line suspension (http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/showthread.php?t=32421), maybe the same as the "whoopie loops" WV refers to. The thing I don't...
As per Grizz is my experience.
If you are actually looking for a bear bag, try this:
http://www.ursack.com/ursack-catalog.htm
I get mine at West Marine. You can also order it from Redden.
And another question for the rest of you. I have found this set up to be perfect except for one thing. Using the whoopie slings I...
Happy to hear this is to be corrected. I received a few weeks ago one of the new 20* Phoenixes. I've spent several nights in the back yard to make sure I had everything down and confess that I got...
Don't know how many of you have REIs in your area. Whenever I go in I always check their "scratch and dent" corner. Scored big time today. I've been looking for a rain jacket for my 13-year-old...
My final trip as a canoe guide with YMCA Camp Menogyn was the 1990 "Hommes du Nord" trip to Hudson's Bay.
Enjoy the BDub! Heading up May 21 myself with my blackbird.
Tree Straps: 14', or whatever the webbing is that came with my wbbb
Tarp RL/SRL: 42', with whoopie adjustment on each end, prussics for tarp and permanent loops for hammock
Guy Lines: 8' STLs for...
Yep, without BearChaser's SLS this would not work. With more distance from the tarp, however, it makes sense to make use of that space.
Hi, all
I'm getting ready for a trip, so slept in the hammock last night. I was thinking about where to put the gear that will not be coming into the hammock with me (the only things that will come...
I skimmed the thread and didn't see my technique, so thought I would post it. I bought a 4 pack of the smallest bungie cords my hardware store had. $3 for a pack of four, I think. I took off the...
I put this together for a friend. Thought some of you might find it interesting.
+1 I have to say I've enjoyed all the fiddling with cord. It's a new experience for me.
Thanks, BC. I'll try that tonight.
Just for curiosity, I'm assuming you go prussic to s-biner to tarp so you can switch to another tarp, correct. Otherwise, is there any reason not to go prussic...
Okay. Put the ridgeline together last night. Deceptively easy. I put the tarp and hammock up this morning to give things a quick test. All is well except the ridgeline on my wbbb is a bit tighter...
Well, this is exactly what I've been looking for! I'm brand new to hanging. Bought a wbbb a few weeks ago for an upcoming 5 week canoe trip in MN and Canada. What kept frustrating me was the...
I'm using a piece of 1/4" ccf. Using a pack is a no go for me. I'm a canoeist and the pack is usually wet on the bottom (and soaked totally if it's raining). The pad I'm using can also double as a...
Received my 3/4 Phoenix yesterday. Excellent attention to detail. Hoping to test it out tonight. Will be a good test, as the forecast is for rain and a low in the high 30s. Thanks, Jen and Adam!
Thanks JAG. Nothing in my junk folder. I PMed Jen with some information that may help her in figuring out whether they are having server issues.
Hi, all
I'm just wondering what others' experience has been in order from Hammock Gear. The only confirmation I received from my order of two weeks ago was an email from paypal. An email last week...
Thanks, GA. 1 and 2 are correct.
You're idea of putting the adjustable loop at the triangle side, however, is excellent. I'll be hanging from the occasional birch, but mostly from pine, fir...
Hi, all
For ease of modification and to keep the link that keeps rain water from draining to the hammock is there any reason I can't just remove the straps from my WBBB (to use as tree huggers) and...
I've been reading a lot in various post about "best" and "fastest". I seldom see a reference to "most versatile," which is the question I've been thinking through the most. A few weeks ago I got a...
Well, West Marine's right hand doesn't know what its left hand is doing. I tried to order amsteel online to have it shipped to a local store, just as the website says. I didn't see the clickable...
Agreed. But I just realized I have a sis-in-law in Hopkins (another westmarine location). I could also prevail once more on a colleague to make a pick for me in Stillwater. I just received from...
It's on sale now through the westmarine website at $.20/ft (regularly $.26). You'll pay tax, but they will ship it free to any store.
Thanks, Dragon.
Great question. I've been doing canoeing, backpacking, snowshoeing, skiing and cycling trips since the early '80's, one trip to Hudson's Bay as long as 40 days, several other backpack and canoe...
Greetings from Minnesota!
I see there are many hangers here in MN, and especially in the metro area. I'm in the north metro (Lino Lakes) and I'm wondering whether you all know of any nearby stores...
Here's to luck!
Interesting thing about the REI returns. Most stores have a little corner in back where returns are on sale for cheap, cheap, cheap.
Thanks for keeping the faith, Matt.
Thanks. That would explain my issue. I was burying one end, not both. Doh!
