Get some silicone tubing like used on exercise bands and run the amsteel through that.
IE the silicone tubing goes in the channel. Keeps the cloth from bunching up and you can adjust the cloth on...

You really dont need a double 1.9 for 200#.
Single 1.9 is enough.
If you want a double you should be looking at a double 1.1 which will save some weight.

Have you tried a glue in a PVC threaded end plug adapter ?? You should be able to find one that is 1/8 NPT then just drill out the threads or not.

Silicone tubing works best but is heavy. I had an old piece of exercise equipment I scavenged the silicone tube off of a while back.
You could even probably go 36".
Vinyl Tubing also works but...
So my latest is a 10' x 5' with a 12" spreader at the head and a 24" spreader at the foot, and that is the most comfortable to me so far. I have not tried a 24 at the head yet.
