Wish I could make it. Y'all stay out of trouble.
I'm in. Thanks!
I use the torso length nitelite. It is very effective as insulation. I too like to have a pad in case I can't hang and the nitelite is pretty comfy on the ground. If you have a GG pack the pad also...
I really dig that stake holder!
I carry mostly ti shepherds hook stakes because the weigh in at almost nothing and they are also necessary for my trail designs ti-Tri to go into wood burning mode. I keep one ground hog because it...
This item is still for sale.
I'm in! Thanks!
I prefer earth tones. I tend to stay away from reds, oranges, yellows, any bright color really.
Count me as a maybe. I've need to find a farm-sitter for that weekend.
Purchased for an international trip but my luggage got lost with all of my gear and didn't make it back to me until almost a month after my trip. Anyway...
Pacsafe Explorer XL protects a pack up...
This is a well used but still sound pack with some wear and tear. I'm asking $25 plus cost of shipping.
Item Description:
Men's medium torso length (17.5 to 20.5 inches), top loading pack with...
I took the photos in my iphone.
Photos and trip report as promised: http://thefarmercamper.com/camping-with-strangers/
It was a true pleasure to meet all of you, and it was worth the drive. Ray, much to my surprise it wasn't apple juice in my platy. It was, however just as nice if not better.
I'll post a link to...
Beautiful report. I did an overnight hike there about seven years ago when I was still a tent camper. Such a magical place.
I might end up running a little late. Does anyone have a link to trail maps or have more information about where to park?
I've been interested in that park myself. I look forward to hear how it works out.
The sleeping bags will be headed to the buyer as soon as the UPS guy gets here. I'll PM the tracking number.
Welcome from a fellow Texan.

they stuff into a 9 x 19 stuff sack.
They weigh in at about 4lbs each. They are synthetic fill so not for ultralight travel.
I'm cleaning out the old gear closet and I have 2 Sierra Designs Sandman 3D 15 degree bags that need a home. One is a left entry and the other a right so the zip together for ground sleeping couples...
If I'm hiking with other people that means that I want to share the outdoor experience with them, so I'm going to stick with them. It's almost painful sometimes to hike at a slow pace bit it's not...
Very quick communications! Jared answered my questions very promptly, so I ordered a tree runner and mosquito defender this evening. He emailed back to say he would have it in the mail for me in no...
This item is sold!
PM Sent. Sold pending funds.
Yes webbing straps are included.
+1 on the titanium stakes. I bought a bunch from lawsonequipment.com. They are easy to lose so I spray painted them fluorescent orange. I do carry one MSR groundhog (big, heavy duty) that doubles as...
I've only slept in this Hennessy Expedition Zip with asym fly about 12 times so it is in great condition. I'll throw in snake the snake skins unless I have to reduce the price.
Gently Used...
I haven't noticed a problem with that and I'm a hot sleeper.
I might be interested in making a drive and meeting some other hammock type texans.
Gossamer gear nitelite pad is pretty effective and super duper light.
Looks very cozy. Good work!
Purchased from Rooster. Thank you very much.
How do you like the Jerry chair? Is it relatively comfortable in chair mode? I'm considering one.
If they work as well as the ones on the gorilla I wouldn't trust them if the weather got rough. I'll stick with tying knots.
Moisture is a big concern, especially when you get to the lower limits of insulation. You might start out toasty, but wake up at 3am chilled.
That is the nice thing about Texas. You can get by without much insulation.
My 2 cents: I don't like snake skins for two reasons. I think they don't pack as well as a nice folded tarp, and the hold in moisture. I can carry my tarp in the mesh pocket of my pack loosely...
Even better. Thanks!
Tough break! Thanks for sharing, at least you got a good blog post out of it.
Has anyone ever tried the golite poncho tarp to protect from below?
I like the idea of going lighter with cuben, but it just seems like we are getting to the point of diminishing returns as far as costs go. And it does look a little too Sci-fi-esque for me, but to...
I'm in Texas so my set up can be described as a 3-season since we lack a true winter. I keep what I call a just-add-water pack ready to go of quick overnights and weekend hikes. It weighs in at...
I've never had an issue but it always worries me. I hang in a BIAS WWM and that material always seems very fragile to me. I'm probably just imagining it.
It looks like in the photo and video it is dessert camo. Do you make it in any other colors?
I take that back the Lennon is pretty rad.
I think I'd have a hard time sleeping with all of those colors!
