Would you go full length on the reflector or just legs? Full length seems like a recipe for sweat city. Remember the Big Agnes bags don't have any insulation underneath so I would only have a thin...

The Yeti 3 season is only a 2/3 length UQ. What about keeping my feet warm?
I think that would be asking for air gaps versus the nice tight fit I typically get with the UQ. Although that would still only add insulation on my torso, leaving my feet to freeze.
Long story, but I have a last minute trip in weather I have never hung. Forecast puts weather as low as 25F. I basically have 1 or 2 nights to pack for this trip if I am lucky.
Tarp - OES 4...
I really like those scout zips! I think you sold me. So 2 Scout zips, 1 WBBB (the wife said she wouldn't sleep in the ENO, apparently I oversold the WBBB when i bought it) and 1 more UQ (likely...
So right now I have 2 hammocks
WBBB DL 1.0
ENO DoubleNest (also have net for it)
2 tarps
OES MacCat
OES 4 Season
1 UQ
WB 3 Season Yeti
Hopefully I should have some trip pic's soon. Waiting for everyone to report in.
Just got back from Loon lake on the Canadian border. Weather was wet but we managed, picked up a few fish and only a two ticks on the dog.
BTW temps were around mid 30's at night with some wind...
Very fast response! Thanks a ton, I think I am covered for this last minute trip with the double 1.0.
Of course I did realize while packing that my tarps are without lines and I never did get...
I have been using plastic figure 9's with some cheap reflective cord to tension my tarps. I am tired of the daily re-tensioning and the lack of any give.
Has anyone used the Shane method with...
A last minute trip is coming up next week and I just realized I am sitting at about 230lbs (30lbs over my weight when buying the hammock).
Am I crazy to consider using it? I don't want to damage...
Got a deluxe for my b-day and had to order another 4 season for an upcoming trip. Brian got that tarp to me in 3 days flat, it was insane!
Trip was awesome, tarps were a huge hit. Expect a...
For her B-Day I got her diamond earrings, how do you think i keep her.
I am looking at making a DIY top quilt. For bags I have a nice setup, I use a 45F bag, my wife has a 30F. In bad weather I use both and the wife uses the couch/fireplace.
Now that I realized my...
This all started last year with an eno double and a good nights sleep. Oh and about 10 hours of Shug-er on Utube..
Than the Wife got me a WBBB 1.1 dbl and Maccat deluxe for my b-day (yes I...
I hit up West Marine today, oh what a mess. First guy tells me they don't carry it and are not stocking Amsteel anymore. I find the last of a 1/8" roll on the floor, wait 20 minutes to see if I can...
Well if I cannot get Zing-It local does anyone know of someone who has Zing-It and Amsteel that ships fast?
Anyone know of a local store that carries Zing-It? Prefer west-metro.
Actually it was the insulated aircore during that trip. But with only about 10-20% air in it who knows how much it actually insulated.
Hmm never even considered that! Thanks..
I am a 2.5 season only camper. Mainly because I focus on boundary waters trips and don't like ice. So 30F is the worst I have seen in 10 years of trips.
Yeah but that was with no real bottom insulation and wind!
I realize I should try this setup first. But is is about 4F outside and I need this gear ready for a trip. By the time i am able to test it in the right temps it will be too late to get additional...
I know I missed the buy, but if you still have any left over let me know. Thanks...
PM sent with some questions... Talking to the wife now..
If she does prefer her hammock over her bed you might see me start to cry. I spent more time sanding her bed prior to paint, then I did building the hammock. :D
Yep I built the loft. We wanted to give the oldest a little more space for a desk and pet cage. My wife wanted something custom and I wanted something cheap, so 3 weeks of labor later we had our...
She is more into mystery books then Speers. She also loves camping and canoe trips. I get asked weekly about our next trip to Quetico.
Too bad I don't have a full loft picture. It is a 2 bed L...
After spending most of the fall/winter drooling over ordering a new WBBB, I decided to make my daughter a simple gathered end hammock. For a first DIY hammock attempt it worked out to be pretty...
Thanks for the tip, picked up 3.5 yards of purple today for my daughters hammock. Was tempted by the camo but figured that wouldn't pass the wife test for indoor usage.
This would be a great trip but I am not geared up for this type of camping. Maybe next year or at least when it is warmer.
Going to start on a DIY gathered end hammock for my daughter. So I want cheap with a preference towards girl colors (pink, purple or light green).
I checked all the normal sites (several threads...
Dibbs and happy b-day to me!
PM sent
Both good idea's and about the same distance away. I am out in Waconia. I will see what I can figure out.
Looking for a local trip in MN with a quick hike, nice view and dinner under the tarp. Kid friendly would be nice as it might be easier to explain to the wife versus trying new bottom insulation.

50F is about as low as I go, but I guess an underquilt would match nicely with my big Agnes bags. I am a little concerned about weight/size as most of my trips are for canoe/camping.
I could see getting into an underquilt for 30F, but 55F?
Trip: Quetico, 4 day trip, 1 day of rain, 1st try sleeping in a hammock.
Setup: ENO doublenest, eno bugnet, crazy creek tarp (freebie), Big Agnes 45-50F bag and Big Agnes insulated aircore pad....
Big thanks for the idea... I should have enough parts laying around to do that without buying a thing.
This would also get my DIY gearbag back inside of the bugnet (key problem with putting the...
I double-checked my adjustable ridge, it was set at about 107", math error on my part.
The crazy creeks were free from my father in law. I wanted at least one Quetico hang trip before I dumped...
So after a couple nights of working on stuff I thought I had a workable rig for the upcoming trip (leave wed for quetico, 4 nights, some rain and low 50F's predicted)
Equip tested:
- Eno...
Why the change? Toggles fall out in wind or just while packing/unpacking?
I made skins for the hammock/bug net and tarp. I rigged it up in such a way that i could slide my bugnet off to the side of the hammock and cover it with a skin, so during the day I can just enjoy...
Props all around for the forum and Shug's u-tube video's. Got a call Friday to go up to quetico for next weekend but it was a hammock trip. Everyone had HH's. I had an Eno double from a spring...
So I picked up an ENO bugnet for my ENO doublenest.
Father-in-law dropped of two crazy creek hammocks tarps he bought for $4 each at a garage sale. They are a little strange, but I can modify them...
Already called them first thing this AM, they didn't have any in stock and couldn't get it in time for me.
A last minute spot opened up for me on a Quetico trip but I haven't set up my hammock yet for camping. The rest of the group is HH users and I need to get my ENO ready for the trip.
Unfortantly I...
