Looks like a great way to test out the new gear.
I'm really liking the Wilderness Logics King Size TQ. At 55" it has enough width for my side sleeping and tossing at night. They make an XXL that is 60" wide and both come in several lengths.
They make a great product. What custom features did you get?
I got mine last month and love the King Size downy goodness!
Looks like a great winter hike. Thanks for sharing the adventure, it's always great seeing folks hanging world wide.
Looks like a great spot to spend the afternoon. Nothing better then a romp by the stream to make you feel better.
Looks like a great trip! Thanks for sharing the adventure.
The stew is cooking and the cornbread is almost done. Sure smells good.
The New River is a great UQ! Enjoy many a toasty night in the piney woods.
Looks like a nice trip. Great variety of scenery and the snow shots look great.
I still want to snow camp this season. Maybe I can find a spot for Friday that isn't shut down due to fallen trees and ice.
My choice would be the Jarbidge. I've used the Yeti and found it to be too narrow for me and had a good bit of shoulder slippage. The Yeti is 40 X 46 where the Jarbidge is 42 X 58. Much better...
Looks like we won't be hanging at Raven Cliffs after all. Just saw this from the Chattahoochee - Oconee Alerts page

I'm a little confused.... The TQ you have now is 55" wide and is not wide enough but you want to trade for the same width just shorter?
Rocking the Wilderness Logics King Size TQ. 15 degrees of sew foot box downy goodness.
Looks like a great trip. Thanks for sharing the adventure!
The URL's are showing up but no direct link. You could try to link them again.
Welcome to HF from Georgia. Had a great time in the Boy Scouts when I lived in PA, miss those winter camporees and the snow. Don't forget a pad for warmth and check out the Kelty Noah's 12 tarp for...
Great looking tarp! All of my tarps are now 13' and I really like the extra room. Your pole mod looks like it should shed snow pretty well.
Thanks for taking us along on the adventure. Y'all always seem to have the best time on your trips.
Still too early to tell but we'll keep an eye on it for later in the week.
Friday and Saturday are looking good for snow so far.Still a ways off so things could change.
You're right I should have just looked it up. That stuff does look pretty tasty!
What is a chicken bog?
Looks like a great trip! Really like seeing everyone's snow camps since we haven't had any this year. Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Always great to see another Bruciehi5 trip report. Thanks for sharing the adventure and looking forward to the next one.
Welcome to HF from Athens!
My grandson now uses my old ENO set up and fits it pretty well.
Randy over at Dream Hammocks has a handy down fill calculator that you can plug in your info and see how much you need for your project.
Great looking set up you put together. Looks like you're in for many a comfy night in the piney woods.
Directions to Raven Cliff Falls
From Cleveland take hwy 129 N. Make a right onto 75A. After you pass Smithgall Woods / Dukes Creek make a left onto hwy 348. Raven Cliff Falls is marked on the left...
Looks like a great spot for a hang. Thanks for sharing your time in the snow. Wish we had some down South.
Looks like y'all had a great time in the piney woods. Love those snow pics! Thanks for sharing the adventure.
Welcome to HF from Athens. If you get a chance come out and join us for a group hang at Raven Cliff Falls on the 21st of February. Great bunch of folks to share a campfire with.
The joys of winter camping. Thanks for the great pics! Hope we get at least one snow here in Georgia this year
Looks like a great spot for a group hang. That cobbler sure did look good.
Sounds like a great adventure for you and your son. Thanks for sharing the trip.
Do not listen to the nay sayers! I like a 10' ridge line on my hammock and the added coverage of a larger tarp. Yes you will need more space between trees but the forest is full of them and it's not...
I put in for Friday off from work so I could get there early for a change. Anybody able to do dutch oven cornbread? Yummm
The back yard sees several nights per month. I try to get out at least once a month to hang in the woods. I'll be retiring at the end of February so my time in the piney woods is about to increase.
Stew does sound good. I'll bring some stew beef and some veggies.
Here's a sign up sheet if you'd like to bring anything for Saturday.
Would anyone be interested in a pot luck for Saturday evening?
I just got a King size TQ from Wilderness Logics and really like it. That little bit of extra width wraps you in downy goodness for a warm nights sleep. The removable fleece condensation patch is a...
Have you tried using shock cord on the loops to snug the UQ up to the hammock? With that much weight this really helps to support the UQ to the hammock....
Looks like a great time. Love the sound of rain on the tarp, I just don't like hiking out in it.
You will be missed LazyBee. Hope to see you at the March hang.
Good to see you back on the interwebs old4hats! Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
Another fine adventure. Thanks for taking us along. That pizza looked good!
I ordered a king size TQ and a few other items on Friday, Jan 30th. Called Marty on Monday when I realized I ordered 2 stuff sacks instead of 1 and just had him make the other one a different color...
