I'm 6' 3" -- 240 lbs and don't have a problem with space with my TX-250.
I'm with Trambo, I would go with a quality under quilt 1st, could always use a modified sleeping bag as a top quilt. You probably already have a sleeping bag you could modify.

I like the vertex tarp, larger the better if you ask me, and I don't think it would fit in the built in compression sack. I keep them separate for the reason you mentioned.

I don't know that you want the stakes & poles inside with the Hammock, could rip something. Don't know I want my tarp in with my hammock, it most always is wet with dew I use mesh...

Big difference between slap straps & Atlas straps!
The biggest difference is what they are made of, slap straps are nylon & stretch ... A Lot ! Atlas straps are made of Polyester filament material...

I have never been claustrophobic ... but the 1st time I climbed into my Clark in the dark zipped up the netting and turned off my headlamp, it hit me! Was like massive vertigo! Yikes!
