The Mini UCR for tarp tieout is very interesting. Did you buy or make these?
David
THanks a lot, I appreciate the pictures. I was using mitten hooks and I have come to despise those things! Especially when your hands are cold and as you mentioned you're in a hurry!
David
Do you happen to have a pic of this? I'm having trouble picturing this.. Thanks
SCD
Welcome sir!
That would be helpful.
This makes a lot of sense to me. S-Biners seem to work better for my gorilla hands so I have swapped all of my mitten hooks for S-Biners. I'm gonna give this a try.
Here is a thread with some input from Brandon @ Warbonnet on the subject.

I appreciate the responses, still trying to figure out what will work best for me.

I've had shock cord on my door tie-out triangles for years. (Hope the following makes sense.) I usually hook them using S-Biners onto the corner tie-out triangles or even the corner tie-out stakes...
Best gear, best people ever. Period!
David
Welcome from Hickory.
It's a sad day.
I love this! I'm 6'2", I winter camp only so I want to pitch close to the ground yet be able to stand up under the tarp. I think this would fit the bill. What's the price point?
David
I'm a side sleeper and I spent a small fortune on different pillows. I finally made my own from an extra pillow we had. A mini pillow if you will. My wife even made me a mini pillow case for it. ...
Count me in please!
David
Welcome!
David
This takes very little room in your pack, it's easy and quick to set up. It's also convenient for keeping gear off the wet ground. Thanks for watching.

Thanks SS, you are right I did mean the Incubator, I changed it. Thanks for the good links!
David
This may sound like a dumb question but here goes;
What is the shock cord adjustment that runs the length of the underquilt used for? I have never seen the need to draw the side up so I'm not...
Just noticed in Brandons video at .21 seconds check out the difference in the head and foot end. I looks pretty significant to me. What do you guys think.
Thanks LD!
Maybe when I get experience that you have I will understand how to "tweak" it if it doesn't feel right, but until then I'm trying to approach it from dead level. The level will help because their...
When you get it level are you done? Or, do you "find" level and then drop the head end some?
David
Had to call Adam today. His/they're customer service is tops. It's a pleasure to deal with people like this, it makes it easy to buy from them. Thanks HG for doing it right!
David
I understand, and it's a good question, there was a slight slope of a couple of inches. My measuring was a guesstimation but I don't think I was far off.
David
Thanks
David
Now I have to rely on memory because I didn't look at that, I think they were about even pg.
So on a trip this past weekend I set up with my head end 10-12 inches lower than the foot in my new WB XLC. Ive done this in the past with my WBBB with success in relieving calf pressure and to...
Thanks guys. I made a continuous loop that I "thought" was locked and found out it was not. The way I am using this is I prussic it onto my structural ridge line at the head end at the peak. ...
Makes sense, thanks ShellHammock
Thanks ShellHammock, so you are saying if I push the marked point through the hole shown at 4:45 and then finishing as he did it will lock the loop?
David
Thanks guys!!!
David
I found out this weekend that what I thought was a locked continuous loop was not locked at all. I had it on another piece of Amsteel using a prussic and it can apart. I am sure I have seen on this...
Call Adam at Hammock Gear, he will work with you to get a good fit. He did with me and I'm completely satisfied and more importantly, warm!
David
6' 2" @ 330 I used a WBBB 1.7 double for three years with zero issues. I just bought an XLC that I'll be trying out this Fall/Winter but I don't expect to have any issues. Get the Blackbird 1.7...
Thanks for your help but I'm having a little trouble following you. Could you post some pics by chance?
David
Thanks bud!
Following these instructions how would one be able to pull your tarp close to the ground as in storm mode? Looks like depending on the overall length of your tie-out you could only get within a few...
Got my order. Thanks guys!
Thanks guys!
I ordered 100' of Glowire from them on 5-19-14 and have not received it as of this post. I have emailed them 3 times to get the status of the order and have heard nothing. Anyone have any experience...
I have SC on all of my SF tie-outs. Being new to hammock camping (2yrs) most things I read and most videos I watched talked about using it on tie-outs so I did just that. I'm now beginning to wonder...
My sentiments exactly.....
I posted here recently about tarp tightness and shock cord. Got a lot of good information but I wanted to hear what Brandon had to say on the subject including wind. After all he should know the SF...
Bubba, did my pics above answer you question?
Thanks, David

This is my tie-out set up.
Below is just a pic of my ridge line set up. Pay no attention to the orange glow wire in the ring, it's just used for a clothes line under my tarp.
Bubba, I have line-loks with with 2mm glow wire attached to a loop of 1/8 shock cord that I larks head through the triangles on the tarp. I could post a pic if this is not clear. What do you think....
Thanks guys for the info. So considering what you all have posted here should I remove the shock cord from my tie-outs in order to tension the tarp better?
David
When you watch Brandon's Super Fly set up vid he gets it super tight. Looks like it's been ironed! At one point in the video he even shows a 3 to 1 guy method for getting the tarp tight. I have...
