i dont know neo, im sure you can get red satin, or even blaze orange gear, and we still wouldnt be able to find it under all that camo!
do i count? I lurked a bit last year, then got an account. then didnt post for months on end. but im back (for now)
i have no idea. but please keep us informed. its not much more then their other waterproof nylons (i dont know, is it silnylon, or light weight coated?
it still sounds like a bridge hammock, just without the end caps or spreader bars, thus relying on the trees for spread.
you wouldnt need to be diagonal, it would be flat.
i know what you want to work, but i am doubting its physics. if the 6' is the width, and it spreads around a 2' tree (for simplicities sake each side as a 2' tree), then it would just sag in the...
i like the looks of it. and its big enough. i think the lengths are the cross sections. If it fits the HH clone (tieouts). cause then it would be about perfect.
and the orange is nice, just say...
one end around a wide tree, that sounds like your trying to make a bridge hammock, with the spreader bar being the tree itself. it would be better to just make a bridge, a "poll-less" bridge (the...
it stretches less then nylon but more then polyester
yea, i agree with engineer and oh-no. i believe eider down is the best, because it acts like hook and loop amongst itself and has great insulations properties. and since its protected, they must...
now. to find the source of the green sil...
it is going to be covered anyway. taffeta is opposed to ripstop. taffeta is all high tenacity threads, where ripstop has only strong reinforced threads in a square pattern.
i dont have it so i...
ha. i forgot. at least i didnt miss out. if nothing happens, back to 5+ per yard. *shutters*
isint spinnaker fabric a polyester base? thatt could be silnylon, but i thought it was different then spinn. check out the spinntex at thru-hiker.
regardless, thats excellent. what color is it?
I've been idle here recently, so I may have missed recent news. pardon me then. bit has warbonnetguy made his website yet? cause. would lve to see his stuff. thanks!
he just wants every one else to not do it, so he can be part of the elite group. duh.
nice looking quilt.i was considering a momentum90 and down quilt, but then i woke up, i cant afford that, im...
6" or 9" length?
I got a pack of vargo Ti pegs, so i dont think i will spring for these. but thats one heck of a deal.
excuse me, i have to find my rain remnants after youngblood's post.
yea, i have been planning a 1/2 length uq for quite some time, and still sketching plans i hope will be better then the last.
hate to find a mistake in the test run. a little higher then the foot or so in a hammock.
but i say we should all bombard HH and JRB til they reveal the source of the coveted brown sil. or at...
wow. i cant stand me. my DIY side wont let me buy it, telling me that making one is better. good deal tho.
well, with a CCF a breathable bottom fabric is moot. But I would not suggest non breathable materials in case you ever want to go without the pad of upgrade to underquilts.
hm, sounds nice colored, but PICS?! and what would you use it as, I would want to make a hammock, so would it be to light or what?
any brown or green 1.9 oz ripstop nylon/polyester? with a DWR coating?
and similar colored 1.1 to 1.5 oz ripstop?
ha, but as for the picture, I would assume that they set it up for the pictures, relax for a bit, enjoy the view, and then take it down with out risking sleeping in it.
i got one, and replied that i was a devote muslim (on another forum). it was rather funny. FOR ALI!
alright, in the bottom of the return PM i said i was joking. fun while it lasted.
well, I hope the new JRB ws set is a bit more, well, blending. but as seen by their other products, it might well not. its ok tho.
but I want my top shield to be like HC4U, where it zips over the...
1.1 would be preferred, but either is fine! but make sure the 1.9 is sil, and not just a heavily nylon coated, it will still peel off.
well, i am used to everything being in yards he, so feet (i knew, but lemme easy, alright)?
and I will probably move the ring as needed, but only have it loop back 2 time, reducing the force on...
it takes mos users, (well, at least me :P) over a month to get 100 posts. usually less then 2, but...
its ok, we gladly accept you as out top spammer.
he was 15/16 and it was 45 feet high in a giant tree in his backyard. check on whiteblaze (it it is back up).
1.9: 8 at $1/yd 16 at $.5
1.1: 8 at $1/yd 16 at $.5
sil: 15 at $1/yd
minimum, may boost order up for final prices. this is for any earthy tones.
well, I would like to have a weathershield, after hearing all the good it can do, but what should I make it out of:
1.1oz RS- this is light weight and can provide moderate wind protection. call it...
well, I think a biner will be best, it removes all fabric on fabric friction, and then loop the cord through the biner too, thus eliminating the friction there too.
cool.
for the 1.9 (in earthy tones) i would only be getting a little, for my hammock and several others, as well as a weathershield and stuff to play around with.
For 1.1 I would get about the...
well, I plan to get the stuff for my DIY hammock set, eventually... it is coming along, but slowly.
any way, for TD's biner hitch, how much rope should be on the ends? enough to go from the...
i dont have an REI near me, but sounds like you will be set. congrats man.
with adding more underquilts, make sure they snug up to the hammock when occupied, but not too much. it would stink to either have the folded up quilt be too lose or snug and compressing the...
looking back, the cat tarp is just too short.
i believe the consensus is that you would want more loft under you, as wind can suck away the warmth beneath you. and it is also much easier to add extra insulation above you then below you (putting...
you can still use it for a hammock be creative.
and if you talk to David, he might let you switch it for one of his cat tarp (cat cut sil nylon tarps are good for hammocking).
think. 8x8 (along the sides) will have a ridge line length of root 128, just over 11.3 feet long. if it is divided in half for the 2 parts, each half will need to be5.6 feet long. normal sil is 5...
funny. I also post in a computer forum, and I read a site about a hiking forum being hacked. I dont go to whiteblaze that often, sowhen I saw it I thought, whiteblaze? no way. but I was wrong.
i saw a picture here where someone tied a hammock (HH) between 2 trees with the tarp on. then snow was piled up to the tarp around more then half of the perimeter. the only opening was at the foot...
oh! oh! oh! did i get a maccat?
*looks around frantically*
i guess not. :)
congrats.
several hints (might not like them, but I dont know):
Spyderline, im not familiar, so cant say on the 3.8 over 2.8. but if you only need 50 feet and go with the 3.8 (or 75 feet for 2.8) a mini...
I am just waiting on weight price and water resistance.
why not camp nano wire biners?
well my reason for splurging on speer products is that since I will be putting so much time and effort, I dont want it ruined easily. great way to convince someone :D
ha, the walmart close to my house now carries a $1/yd section! they might have before, but I didnt see it. I asked for the section and they pointed my to a small aectiion with $0.89 tools. ha
...
interested in jetboil and SG 9x9.
soon WBG will have his site up. he has a nice synthetic quilt.
