I have had my HHSS down below freezing in very wet weather and stayed comfortable and dry several times. The space blanket seems klunky, but once you are used to the system its fast to set up and...
I'll take it
Thanks again!
 Sounds familiar... One more question - do you worry at all about cast the ends of the caps breaking? I have some of those caps and they appear to be cheap cast metal (i.e. not very strong). ...
Cool design! Question - any reason you didn't use the 1 3/8 Open L? Seems like that's what you made from the T's?
Congrats & Thanks!
Double, but for a different reason - mosquitoes.
I have a 12 and a 16, treated both with the walmart tent spray and they have been 100%waterproof in even south La. downpours.
I live in Louisiana, so I never, ever go out without a tarp. I do set it up "porch" style fairly often, but want it set up almost every night. As far as what to buy, I have a Hennessy Hex, but I...
I also have one of the 2QZQ Grizz Beaks that works wonders when I need a tarp door. Together they keep the wind and rain out and everything else clean.
I have a breathable 2QZQ Hammock Specialties UQP and love it. I didn't want the potential condensation, but the protection and cut in the breeze is great.
I use the Hex with my Explorer because I love the extra room. And because it rains here all of the time. I have never been wet (yet) even in downpours. I didn't think that the OEM tarp covered...
I'm 6'1" / 200lbs and fit perfectly in my HH Explorer Deluxe Zip too. There is plenty of room.
I use a Hex and love it. I mostly camp with Scouts within an easy hike of the truck, so weight is not that big a deal to me.
Just seeing this - fantastic! I have some scouts who will love it.
Enter Me in the Giveaway - Another Scout dad who knos some kids that would love this. And thanks!
And you guys think that adjusting your underquilt is a PITA...:scared::lol:
This^^ One of the things that led me to hammocks in the first place was the natural "A/C" effect. We camp at least once a year in late spring & early fall when the temps remain above 70 and its...
In Louisiana we have 2 seasons - more bug season and less bug season....
Howdy from another relative noob right down the road.
I agree with Goose 1 - you are missing the point. I bought one for $33, cut the zipper out and have a very small, very light TQ that will work year round down here.
I love my Dutch Buckles and am glad that I got a set before "the incident". :scared::shades:
^^ This. No need to have an unnecessary impact.
I would be more worried about feral pigs down here. I have had them go right through camps. You probably had either a deer or a raccoon taking a sniff.
Congrats and thanks for the shot!
I'll take the other one.
Same here. But thanks to the OP for the heads up.
True. I got a couple when they were $33.
For that kind of $$ and work, why not just buy a good UQ from one of the vendors here?
Cutting the airflow by lowering my hammock/tarp to almost the ground helps because it cuts the wind.
If you want dual use, try a Big Agnes bag and insulated pad. I used mine and its a great combo in a hammock and on the ground. Just don't fully inflate the pad - about 1/2 full is fine.
You guys think that it's any better than one of the Wal-Mart down bags with the zipper cut out?
I'll take the SS at the agreed upon PM price. $$ on the way now. Thanks.
Thanks - I need something that will go down below freezing.
I need one in a dark color preferably. Let me know what you have and what you want for it shipped to Baton Rouge. Thanks!
I bought 2 while they were cheap. I cut the zipper out of one and I am going to double the ribbon that is there already and sew it down. I may also sew across and cut the hood off, but haven't yet....
Cool - Thanks!
Both now Sold - Thanks!
I live and camp in a swamp. I want a UQ for cold (cooler) weather. Full length. Any recommendations for humid conditions?
In! And Merry Christmas!
Very cool!
Nice! Merry Christmas!
I tried the rings, and the worked okay, but I switched to a Dutchware Buckle Suspension with Dutch Clips and it is far easier to deal with, holds tight, is smaller & lighter... simply better and...
Thanks! One down, one to go...
Another bump - $35 shipped.
How about a small price reduction = anyone have a full length UQ that they want to trade? (of course I'll be adding $$...) Let me know!
These won't be comfortable for you as they are just too short in my opinion.
Both new - 1 still in the plastic, 1 set up once to let my kids try it in the back yard. I bought 2 because I thought that my kids would like them, but they prefer their tent. The steel hooks are...
I'll take them. Just send me your PP.
I'll take the pillow and a set of whoopies. Great seller folks - buy with confidence.
