Maybe I'm old fashioned but I find its easier to judge the merits of a product if I've actually used it. Otherwise I might be accused of supposition...
Hi fella, I've used and owned several hammocks in my time including DD Frontline, TW Hornet, Lawson Blueridge, Jacks r Better, Hennessey Expedition and the two I currently use - the HH Safari which...
To answer the question of why it is superior, having spent time in both hammocks the TW is a more comfortable hammock to sleep in which in essence is what for me a hammock needs to be able do.
Re...
They're popular over here but I would advise you to go for the TW Hornet instead. Same price point but a far superior hammock. They do a great choice of Tarps too. It's worth noting that Neil has a...
I'm not n Underquilt user so can't offer any intelligent argument for or against that quilt. Looks good from the video review on his site.
Have you considered the DD underquilt?
...
Hi fella,
Why not call Tony or drop him an e-mail. I'm quite sure he'll answer any questions you may have. Great hammocks mate, one of the best kept secrets in the camping business. And that's...
Some great reviews again Tony, keep up the good work and ignore the nay-sayers. I love my P.I.L and having been the owner of several hammocks including some of the coveted ones on this particular...
Hi Mike,
Thanks for posting the link - it was me you were speaking to on there also! :)
Hi Mike,
That looks interesting.
Have you some photos of it hanging?
Thanks Tony, much appreciated. I'll get into it now.
Having recently bought a new hammock which was designed around a Thermarest Ridgerest Mat (The bulkiest mat on the planet). I now find myself needing to change from my inflating mats to a closed foam...
Probably around the low minus figures (celcius) is about the lowest I get out in mate
Fuzzy. surely that would be like driving a plane instead of flying ;)
I realised it's on your photos on fb that I've seen the hammock staked out.
Your set-up looks great mate.
Question,
Does anyone 'statke out' their F.O.B?
Looking at photos on facebook it appears that this can be done using the space where the seams meet at the front and back.
Thanks,
Thanks Tony, reckon I'll need to bite the bullet on this one or find a similar mat with same dimensions - mats I currently use aren't proving to be particularly F.O.B friendly
Thanks mate, will have a look at it
Hi Tony, I hear what you are saying but we get too much rain here for me to be attaching things to the outside of the bag. Previously when I've attached things to the bag I forget they are there and...
Finally picked it up today from the Sorting Office.
Set it up - went up in minutes, tarp included and looks great.
Question, don't want to get the suggested Ridgerest as I don't have the space -...
Hi fella, it's -35 Celcius.
Thanks

I love my TW Hornet and have a new Pak-it-lite hammock arriving soon for the colder weather.
Curious about these though, always wanted one but would it be sufficient for me and my dog (miniature...
Just checked and the link seems to point to that mate but if you go to the home page and then 'gear' and 'hammocks' it's still there.
Cheers
Hi guys,
I found an online shop selling Hennessy Expidition Asym Classics for £83.66 with free delivery.
The zip version is available for £90.
Great deal so just thought I'd share.
...
On a similar vein, I used to own a Lawson Blueridge hammock which came with a removable 'fitted tarp'. Great hammock for the spring/ summer months.
DD under quilts are well thought of here as are the snugpak quilts if a little bulky.
UK hammocks seem to have the edge here with their pricier down quilts.
Delivery times - that's interesting....
Thanks Sarge, but not looking for an underblanket, got that area sorted.

Hi All,
Looking for a new hammock friendly sleeping bag to replace my Carinthia Defence 4 200.
Really love this bag but since the dog likes to kip in with me I must let it go as I can't get on...
Sarge vining, I have neither the time nor the interest in getting into a debate about this, perhaps someone else will pick this up with you.
Regards
For me, what sets it apart is the ease of set up, the unique set up system and the four season rating.
I'm still awaiting mine as UK customs are currently holding it to ransom and demanding I pay...
Looking to trade my Carinthia sleeping bag (goes down to -35) for a nice cosy Top Quilt.

Thanks sandy but reckon i'll go with the good old tree branch! [emoji5]️
Pak-it-lite use this very principle in all their hammock systems... http://camphammocks.com/index.html
Watch the video to see how.
For my tuppence worth, I wholly agree with TZ75man. I have always used an inflatable pad which packs down very small (smaller than the majority of UQs) and have always been comfortable even at sub...
There's lots of great information on here and a wealth of knowledge on the forum.
That said, I personally find that sometimes passion can be interpreted as arrogance and I think we should all keep...
Thanks buddy, not sure my skills are up to it, had a shot at it before but failed miserably!
Yeah, I get that mate.
Like I said - could be a time thing but then, you know what engineers are like with their products!
Thats a beautiful dog mate
Fantastic video there Maztrain, great work.
If you ever want to make a hammock for Lola....

I got the complete system, in the end opted for the standard FOB so i could get it in time for my birthday (the ultra lite had a loooooooooong order time on it). Told Tony you sent me, he talked me...
Fantastic RIngFly, congrats.
How is it?
F.O.B Ultralite Olive Drab.
Very excited!
Guess what i've just pulled the trigger on..........
I believe it's a unisex device hanggirl!
Great photos 2ply. Buddy sure does look cosy. Lola has her own sleeping bag too but she prefers to climb in next to me. Makes for a great hot water bottle
That's a shame Boomer, you should look into a dog nap sack for him!
Thanks Boomer
It seems there are some dog lovers among us and I thought it might be an idea for folks to post photos of their hammock-with-dog set-up.
Don't have to be hanging with you but just enjoying the time...
Anyone else reckon there's room on for here for 'me and my dog hanging'?
