I use a 10lb sledge hammer if available...if not i just use my hand and some persuasion with colorful language...the stakes seem to like that.

I am switching from my old closed cell pad to my new HG UQ...I am assuming that it should be tight enough to the bottom of the hammock to keep warm air in, but not so tight to compress the down. ...
Tadpole keeps me warm and dry...one of the best pieces of gear I have ever owned...top notch operation!!!
