Thank you for taking the time to help me out. I really appreciate it.
The site will not let me post in the For Sale forum. I've posted and sold gear before. I have more than the minimum posts.
I have two TurtleDog stands that I'm really just trying to give away to...
Haven't been on the boards in a while, but thought I'd put this on. Needed a couple of stands for our upcoming Ragnar overnight trail relay in October so I built a couple of turtledogs. Went 14...

There are very few things I'd rather do than walk through the woods headed for a nice campsite carrying everything with me. Welcome to one of the world's healthiest addictions. Get out there and go!
I've done it in February once. It was cold. I hike "hot" so I didn't wear a whole lot while moving, but when I stopped for breaks and at camp, I was immediately chilled and had to go to dry clothes...
Works fine. Here is my version...
Will do Uncle Mike... still hoping to make Fairfield in a month. I'll let you know one way or the other as soon as travel dates are confirmed.
And I married way up... just don't tell her. She...
Hang your smellables. Even if you don't see a friendly little black bear, you will encounter the wiley racoon and occasional skunk.
Water levels in the creeks were a little low but there was...
Jealous of the location for sure! Thanks for sharing.
I carried an Garmin Oregon 450. In the settings you can set it up to capture screen shots by hitting the power button. Then I just connected the unit to my laptop and pulled the screenshot off.
Prayers coming your way brother. Get better and get back.
Just got back this afternoon from my semi-annual trip up to Arkansas to visit the Eagle Rock Loop. This wasn't the best weekend as far a a weather forecast looked, but I had to wedge the 3 day...
Nice!
Did my course at Philmont back in 2000... SR-347 @ Zastrow. No hanging allowed you know.
I used to be a BEAR...
Great trip! It's easy to get lost the first and second time you do the loop. I've done the loop 8 or 10 times now and still have doubt myself in spots. Glad you guys had fun. Perfect little...
Put Pamela and I down as definite maybes... looking ahead, I see business travel getting in the way... but if not, we'll be there for sure.
Jenny and Adam... so sorry about your dad. Wishing you guys peace and great memories.
Not gonna make it fellas. Wish you guys great weather and perfect trees..
I think I passed Leigh as I was exiting the Athens Big Fork on the north end. She was soloing going the other way. I've met her before at a Texas hang and thought she looked familiar.
Have always heard Turkey is a beautiful country. Share some pics of your adventures...
Make your hiking plan ahead of time. Leave a copy of that hiking plan with friends and family. Leave another copy VISIBLE on the dash of your car at your designated parking spot. Then stick to the...
NICE! Really nice.
I thought I would not enjoy the hike as much solo as with my buddies, but the opportunity to go came up on Wednesday for hiking Friday-Sunday, so I didn't even try to find any hiking buddies.
I...
Just did the loop solo last weekend. Perfect weather. Tons of water. Hope you get the hike in solo or otherwise.
Thanks for sharing. Looked awesome! Great pics.
Those clips clip right onto the little loops that PapaSmurf sews onto the hammock body. Experiment with them for the hang that works for you.
I use the 20* Incubator with my Dangerbird... You will want some Clip-on Quilt Hooks from Dutchware to help keep the underquilt in place on that wide bodied hammock. Made all the difference in the...
Yep... 72 refers to hammock body width.
I guessed on the width... When I order my next hammock from PapaSmurf, I'll order it 60" wide... although at 68" I can get REALLY diagonal and REALLY flat. Woke up early last Sunday in a fetal...
Hammock Gear 20* Incubator... just get the full length quilt. It's worth it.
I've changed out a lot of gear since I began this crazy hammock thing... hammocks, packs, cooking gear, etc... One...
I just carried my Dangerbird 11' x 68" single layer crinkle taffeta hammock for the 28 miles of the Eagle Rock Loop. No issues. It's not the lightest hammock I own, but it's not so heavy that I...
If Pam and I are in we won't need the shuttle... It will be an in and out from/to Juniper. Won't take up car space:)
PM reply sent anyway:)
Still not sure if I (or both of us) are in...
Is the plan to meet at Juniper Point at 10am on Saturday? Any idea where you plan on camping? Eagle Roost or further?
I just couldn't let this last weekend go. It was the best weekend weather outlook of the year so far, and I haven't been on the trail in months. I decided on Wednesday last week that I was going,...
Pants are sold. Thanks! Will ship in the morning.
Awaiting the PM...
If they were smaller, I'd keep them:)
They are synthetic - not cotton. The tag says Omni-Dry. Provide UPF 50+ protection. Have a radial leg gusset - lots of room for the boys if you know what I mean. The fabric has some stretch to it...
Payment received. Will do my best to ship the hammock this afternoon.
Thanks!
