I've fixed some tiny ember holes with a single piece stuck on the outside.
I cut 1" squares and then cut the corners off to make some octagons.
It has held up perfectly for a few years now.
I'll take this puffy
I carry a ccf pad big enough to fill my pulk.
Backup plan is to make a bed of pine boughs under pulk, ccf pad inside pulk, make a bed in there with UQ/tq and stay as comfortable as I can.
Then just...

Looking good man!
There is something fine about being 100% encapsulated in the downy goodness, even in the shoulder seasons.
It was a good run Frankenquilt!
wow, titanium horseshoes are a real thing.
Back to the stick trick for me I guess!
Man, it's getting nice out there. I hope you guys are planning some fun trips like I am!
This customer service just isn't as good as I have heard on the internets.
I cannot believe Dutch didn't install my hardware personally.
I sent a friend to good ol' dutchware.com to get some of...

Shiny new gear looks good and cozy.
Great to see new guys getting inspired to camp off the ground.

Such a great adventure, and well shared man!

Hello Dutch,
Will you please share DWR details of the Hexon and the Dobby fabrics with the universe.
Thank you
I was using some of Lawsons reflective cord.
I tested the lineloc 3s to about 100# before failure.
I use them on my tie outs. They have held up to several very strong storms.
using them on the ridgeline will be a bit more risky.
If a...
I've had a cuben tarp and a cuben hammock at temps from -10F to -40F on several trips in all kinds of weather.
Never had a problem with any of the fabric or with the bonded seams.
Hello everyone.
I just bought some kevlar from Dutch, and also just came across this post:

Excellent pace on this trip.
Those sites near the first portage were not filmworthy. but do work in a pinch. at 2am even
Gordy's

It sure looks nice up there in them woods!
Excited to see the rest of the trail and campsites.
The 2 mile portage from the parking lot sure is fun with a canoe. ;-)
Thanks for the comments and stories guys.
Most of my camping is in the BWCA from a canoe. Plenty of rain and foggy mornings. I've not yet been cold because of wet down gear.
billybob, I agree,...
I survived!
Actually, I was quite warm and comfortable.
I wore the clothes I would have on the trail in these conditions.
light long underwear top and bottom. thin nylon pants. thin fleece...
Well, the tq had dried a little too much just sitting in the hammock for 8 hours. So I hosed it down again before crawling in for the night. Its quite damp in here and I got my clothes a little wet...
Hosed it down good on both sides.
Let it soak for about 5 minutes per side
Hosed into the footbox like it was on fire.
DWR around the neck area is not very effective when dirty.
Threw it into...
Looks like it will get down around 35F tonight.
I may wet the quilt again and sleep out.
Very curious to see how it will perform.
Looks like a real nice quilt man.
I'll bet it is good to about 30 in a hammock.
Is it really 950 Hyperdry?
Where did you find 950 at?
INBOX cleared for you man.
The old RAB top quilt is NOT made with water resistant down. (Edited OP to make it more clear) It also has "old tech" pertex fabric which seems to be thought of as...
Hello Campers!
Some friends and I had a great 5 day trip in the BWCA last weekend.
When I got home, I hung my gear out to dry and air out.
I forgot to pack things away before bed last night.
...
Been thinking on the Hustler here too.
Not sure if I can swing it in May, we should discuss.
I'm already out 5 days in the canoe on Memorial weekend.
Gotta get back up that way soon though!...
What a fine way to kick off a Monday.
Fresh Shug vid of the North Shore.
Thanks for taking the time to film for us out there.
I'm looking forward to a bit of woods n water next weekend.
Cool...
When I was working on some tarp tie-out designs, I tested Lineloc 3 to failure at just over 100#.
This is a very high load for a single tie out. Seeing it in person was a real eye opener.
I use...
you could make a standard continuous loop and then double it over to make it half as "long"
This post seems like a great resource.
However, I cannot see any of the pictures.
Can anyone else see them today?
Did you get cold?
A soft shackle (4g) might be the lightest way to complete my setup without hardware. I have not tried this. It would still require you to have a loop on both ends of your tree straps.
You could...
This is what I've been doing for a few years now. Simple and works well for me.
Tree strap and loop on end of ucr are larksheaded together. Biner finishes the job at the tree....
