I live in the tetons, pm me if I can be of any help with shuttles or anything, or maybe we can just "hang" out. Let me know if I can be of any assistance.
I live in the Tetons and finally fixed my hammock stand so I can really start testing my winter abilities/setup. What is the best way to secure my tarp in the snow? Planning my first real winter...
excited to see the final product...would already have a pair from somewhere if I could afford them!!!
I agree on the tarp with doors, but I'm not a gram weenie. The protection and privacy are worth any added weight
apple pie shine and hot chocolate should help you stay warm!!!
Would love to try and make it. If anyone from Idaho is going could we hook up and carpool to save some $$?
thanks for the laugh

Great uq's, you won't be dissapointed
I live in the Tetons, and use a 0 degree underquilt year round. It could easily get below freezing that time of year and possibly snow. Be prepared for the worst, hope for the best!!!

Very cool, can't wait to see more
got my new superfly yesterday, taking it out monday and tuesday night, supposed to be pretty stormy, wondering if I need to seamseal it first?
pretty cool, but any type of equipment failure will lead your scouts getting hurt. Practice and teach proper hanging.

Gonna order a superfly next paycheck...prepare for the worst, hope for the best

TQ that night was a cheapo wal-mart bag (didn't expect it to get that cold) but usually use a 20 degree down bag. Just starting to get comfortable enough in my hammock to brave those cold nights!!!!
Last night I spent my third straight night in my hammock (in my yard, trying to dial in the new hg incubator I have) and it dipped down below 32 degrees during the night in JULY!!!! That is why I...
I blindly took my hammock for a 4 day trip in Yellowstone last fall, ended up getting caught in a severe winter storm. Good thing my buddy brought his two man tent. This convinced me that a 0 degree...

I live in Teton valley, hit me up with a pm if you need a place to stay or anything else, help with shuttles etc. Haven't done the crest trail yet, but you won't have any problem finding trees.
I use a contractor trash bag as a pack cover, goes around the whole pack and works!!
I reached out yesterday to Paul at arrowhead, asking if he knew anyone near Teton Valley who hangs and might be able to show me some tips and tricks, as I am struggling on my own to figure all this...
