Their website states 24"+ for the torso, but i'm a 22" and it fits really well (I'm 6'3") - there is quite a bit of adjustability. Same with the hipbelt. I'm also a 40". I just bought it big in...

Very nice. Is that in Shenandoah NP? If so, off what trail?
I think you'll be fine. I'm 6'3" 285lbs. and I sleep great in both of my 1.6 Hexon Dutch netless hammocks.
Brian, too strong how? Was there a smell remaining or through how the fabric felt? I know giving my stuff a good rinse helped removed any lingering smell and the residue feel. But, I soaked mine.
Thanks sqidmark. I gave that a shot. The resulting water was very milky white, similar to the original permethrin solution. I'm starting to think my mix might have been heavy - messed up the ratio...
Thanks for all the great information in this thread. Based on what I've read - and honestly I haven't read every word here - I pulled the trigger on some Permethrin from my local tractor supply. I...
Shug was my first introduction to hammocking earlier this year. So glad I randomly came upon his YT page. I was actually researching some equipment for an AT section hike - and BOOM, there was...
Do you have a photo? I'm not clear. Are you talking about amsteel on the hammock - as in gathered end? Or the continuous loop attached to the buckle?
Great feedback. Thanks all. I was currious about using them as a quilt stuff sack. I thought that might stress the seams too much. But, sounds like it worked out. Good to know.
Great idea...
The whoopie sling is a light weight adjustable suspension system made from amsteel. Many time it's used in conjunction with a tree-strap and toggle.
Check out the video from Shug. He discusses...

Yup, those are it. That's where I got mine and used the video's - which I thought were easy to follow. I saw several reviews online, but didn't see any long term feedback on durability. Perhaps I...
This may be old news to some here, but I was thrilled to recently find the Yama Mountain DIY Cuben Fiber Stuff sack kits. So far I've made 4 - hygiene kit, gravity filter, cook kit, and clothes bag....

If you want very light, don't forget about camo cubes fiber. Hammock Gear and others have them. http://www.hammockgear.com/cuben-fiber-hammock-hex-tarp/
For suspension, there are so many options,...
Excellent points. I didn't realize I had a no sew option. I'll give this a shot.
Welcome from Northern Virginia!
Thanks for the link. Not sure there's a way for me to make something similar without a sewing machine. Looks like I'm relegated to buying something.
Nice. I was just asking about bug nets - now you've given me some motivation to DIY one instead of buying it. Thanks for the info.
That's why I like this forum - I can easily learn of different products, and many innovative ideas to solve problems.
A large breathable storage bag works for me. It's how I've stored my down bags for years.
Welcome from Northern Virginia!
Good advice. No moose here, but we have some bears.
For the 40's, I'm told a PLUQ will work. And you can do the no sew option. If colder, maybe the PLUQ coupled with your pad(s).
So, it seems like my ENOS might be the thing to stick with - at least until I want to invest in a cheaper/lighter version of a full coverage net. Thanks
Nice report, and really great photo's. You're very fortunate.
Great post - thanks for sharing. Have to tell you, the pics were fantastic.
