You are welcome. I attached the eTracks into the steel studs where they existed. I'm sure just the wood would have worked given how spread out the force will be, but I'm not going to try that.

That's a good idea, but even in a hammock, I move from my back to either side and back again too frequently. Those lights coming on that frequently would give me epilepsy!
I recently bought an enclosed trailer to convert to a hunting shack, SAR IC and taking places and Working from Trailer. I put some eTracks on the walls and hung my hammock. Self-tappers into the...
I was gathering some thoughts on my failed attempt at a tarp ridgeline when I was linked to a video about it. I took that, along with another, and dived into it a bit. If you find value in it then...
If you use the 4x4 sink an eye-bolt into it and just clip to it as needed with a biner or soft-shackle. If you want to adjust up and down that makes it harder but I usually just figure out what I...
Hello @Billio ! I'm Mike Henry, the guy who was in the hammock just down the hill from you. My brother in law and I spoke to you this morning. I really like your setup and will use some of the...
On my most recent Winter outing we hiked all night and got into the hammocks at 6 am. I took my water bottle into the hammock with me so it wouldn't freeze up on me. I kept it against my side. I...
The hike in was tough. Full Winter packs, a bit over six miles in up and down hills and in the dark (started after midnight)! We had good viability with the snow, headlamps, etc. By the time we...
Some additional photos of the weekend.

I think the "flat" is relative to the banana situation. I change positions during the night. Sometimes I am "flat" with something under my knees, in the figure 4 position or even the frog position....
That's what I do now. Always interested in hearing other's POV's.
Thanks for all the replies.
The only time I don't use a bugnet is when it is either too early or too late in the year for skeeters to be out.
Right now I use compression bags for "things that can compress" and put other items like socks, etc. in the gaps to make use of all my pack space. I've heard that some just stuff all that in the...
As others have mentioned I use a small piece of a blue tarp. Big enough to hold my pack, shoes, etc. and still stand on.
Thanks for the response. I think straps will be what he goes with.
There have been several threads but my search skills are low. I'm getting asked how to hang a hammock in the back yard on two trees for the entire summer. I'm suggesting a cinch strap with wood...
Interesting article.
I'm willing to do that as well. I've been looking at them and have found quite a few that would work nicely. Good suggestion.
I'll have to see what runs late at night to get to and fro.
Interesting! I will certainly look into this. Thanks.
I'm thinking the ferry may not run at the wee drunken hours. And of course I may be wrong. And the train, don't know that schedule. Still much to learn.
I'm looking for the places that you pay to camp/hang, etc. Tough to do anywhere near in or really close to the city.
However..... it would be an interesting story to see if I could wear a small...
I looked that up. Looks like a great place to get arrested for hanging overnight!
I will certainly look into those. Thanks.
I'll check that out, thanks. A big part of using any of the suggestions is getting there using public transportation at drunken hours.
I highly suspect after our sessions there will be some...
Thanks for the information. I was looking in that direction to see what's up there. I would normally not be concerned with a 10-15 walk but on both nights I'll be there I'll be carrying a guitar...
The group has a few drummers in it that are either also guitar players or prior drummers turned guitar player.
Not just a park but one that has campsites. A state park, KOA, etc.
I'm heading to NYC in early April for a guitar jam session with some buddies. Once there I want to take public transportation to and from my camp/hang spot, probably late at night. I don't mind a...
This ceiling would not hold that. We reclaimed this old house/cabin and while I trust it to sleep inside I don't trust it to hook an eye bolt into.
I can put straps and such on the ceiling which would certainly help. Yo udon't think that two top rails connected together would bow at the joined point, even if strapped up properly?
I certainly well and I will even take pictures!
My next argument with myself is if I can use a good quality 2x6 against the wall instead of a 4x6 post.
Some prices....
$23.27 = 1-3/8-in x 21-ft Uncoated 17-Gauge Galvanized Steel Top Rail
Using Hiknhanger's thought I'd need two of those for a total of $46.54. Assume I can get them cheaper...
Yes! Very close! I'd like to see if I can do a one piece span and not do the corner braces but if I can't resolve the one piece to my satisfaction this would do very well.
Thanks!
Fair idea.
I wonder if it would still sag? I'm going to have to cost that out versus a 2x6, which I know would work, and a piece of black pipe, which would work as well. Heck a piece of square...
We have helped restore a junky very small old house on our hunting land we just leased. I have one side of the room (it's all open) that I'm going to hang my hammock in. The span is 16'. To create...
Welcome! I just hammock camped on Rocky Fork near London.
I don't know what it's official use it (where did you find it?) but you could use it to extend anything that needed length.
I don't know if I can get my head turned a full 90 degrees from straight ahead. I'd break my neck. Did my ex-wife ask you to post this in an attempt for me to try?
A reminder to give this a try. Pretty neat.
I car camp quite a bit and my MC Easy-Bake Thunderquilt has synthetic innards. Heavy for sure but it does a great job. If I ever started to hike in colder weather I'd care but now I don't.
Do you think you may encase this with some ripstop to keep a bit more moisture out of it?
This is great for you for you and for those with a need this can help with.
A few weekends before I had them folded in like that and it worked well. This weekend it wasn't as cold so I wanted to test things out. I did pinch the middle part together with a biner to see how...
Not sure what kind of mix it is to be honest. Brandon didn't mention it that I know of and I just noticed it as "dog".
Back in hammock, side at home in bed.
Dan's puppy. Great dog.

Dumpster Charles hit...
Charles......
Charles is a guy I used to work with and he wanted to come Winter camping. First thing led to another and he didn't go to his parents and get his cold weather gear. He didn't want...
Food.....
Friday night was brats and hot dogs. Brian made some sort of chocolate and cherry cobbler out of his dutch oven and it was tremendous.
Saturday morning was biscuits and gravy and...
We didn't have as much snow as we would like (none) but the temperatures did get in the 20's. Not the zero we would have liked but decent either way.
We went to a state campground at Hueston...
