You're truly an awesome person.
Here's a photo of the knot I'm trying to duplicate:
I've emailed Paul before about other things and may end up doing that here as well.
I was just interested if anyone on here might be able to identify the knot and expand the knowledge of other...
It's not a Zeppelin bend since only one piece of shock cording is involved.
The barrel knot looks right except that there's a loop on one end that the clip is attached to.
So fellow hammock hangers, I've got a question for you:
What kind of knot is tied in the long end suspension of UGQ Zeppelin Underquilts?
I need to re-tie a knot and haven't been able to...
Done as well.
I'm going to try to make this one although I probably won't make it until Friday afternoon/evening.
Looking forward to meeting you guys.
The still image associated with op's video is my Dangerbird and my coworker's Hennessey! Very cool!!!
Hello from Greenville,
Much thanks! I'm in.
Going to try again next weekend.
Will do and Thanks!
Still looking for anyone that wants to join me and a noob on the Art Loeb Trail.
Thanks so much vpi99!
T-10 days and counting. :D
I'm not great at trip reports but I'll try, especially since I may be the only hammocker. :(
I'm also interested in other planning resources, especially the locations of water sources.
Hi Brian. Let me know. I think I've go two coworkers committed to going so I'm no longer worried abut hiking alone.
Most likely Camp Daniel Boone side. I've been wanting to hike it for a while now and hopefully I'm going to finally get the opportunity.
I've been wanting to hike the Art Loeb Trail since I hiked a portion of it in preparation for my charity hike last fall. I've set aside 2.5 days to hike the trail beginning early afternoon on May...
Dutch is AWESOME!!!
Hell, I've used my eno DN as a gear hammock...
Order placed. :-D
Welcome! We have friends at the US consulate there. If you meet a Taylor & Stuart, tell them Michael & Becca said "Hi!
I achieved my personal best yesterday too with 17 miles in one day. Still working to of 28.3 miles for the charity hike I'm participating in on August 27th

20* Zeppelin from Paul @ Underground Quilts
Awesome place to hang, Paul. Just awesome!
Went out to the garage just a little bit ago and the skies are clear and the temperature is wonderfully crisp. So wish I could be out in the woods tonight!
Low tonight: 52* AWESOME!!!
Just ordered one for my wife for her birthday. Might want to haunt some BMW motorcycle forums but you've got to be quick. They never last long.
I'll be on my 28.3 mile hike on the Foothills Trail on October 27th. Check out the link in my sig line for more info.
Now that I've had time to think about it, I believe he bought the camera because it operates on AA or AAA batteries. That works well since the batteries may be used elsewhere.
Not certain about the rest of your questions but I remember from one of his posted videos that he has a small laptop that he would send ahead to post offices. Once he retrieved his laptop, he could...
I've not known Land to "pay off" anything. AFAIK he pays cash for everything...and never full price! ;)
Oh and if Land wants me to bring his kayak down with the others...he needs to contact me.
If that comment was directed toward me...I'm bringing down a non-motorcycle MALE co-worker. My wife rides her own motorcycles and we regularly camp off of them. :D
If it wasn't directed to me,...
You guys are making me sad. :( I'm not going to be riding down cause I'm sharing the hammock camping experience.
I will be trailering down some kayaks. Any paddlers out there are more than...
I can't wait to try out my new UGQ 20* UQ. Paul shipped it yesterday and should arrive early next week. (I'll be heartbroken if the USPS loses it. :()
I've been giving this a lot of thought the past few days...more thought than I should be giving it.
IMHO I think a general transportation forum is a good idea. Transporting our hammock gear in...
I'm bringing a Dutch Oven with intent to make an apple cobbler.
So what kinds of questions would you like to ask regarding motorcycling and hammock camping?
Please close this thread. TY
I expect I'll be bringing my eno DN, WBBB 1.1 DL, and my Dangerbird 60 #100 with all the bling Pappasmurf threw in. :D
Thanks Bill! Will do.
Glad I could be a part of it all. :D
I'm looking for a lightly used ULA backpack. Hoping to find a Circuit but I'd be happy to consider a Catalyst or Ohm as well.
My torso measures 21" and my waist is 36". I believe that puts me...
If you're going to DYI it then this may not help much but Paul @ UGC has made Resist Down available in his quilts just recently.
Any idea on when the option will be available?
I expect to ride my motorcycle but probably not in the morning and definitely not from your direction. See you there Friday evening. :shades:
I'm with CamRuns but I know my desire stems from getting cold feet one night with a 3/4 UQ.
Being a former member of the US Navy, I find this as well as all naval 'traditions' very interesting. I hope you will document your efforts well as I will be following this post closely.
Saw my first pair of Atlas straps today at Mast General Store in Asheville. Looked interesting but didn't pick up any.
Nuke here, too.
