Right on. Thanks for the tip. I was going to look for different lights for my wife's hammock and this with your mod would be perfect.

Btw, i looked close and now i think you are being modest. Lol. Looks good.

I have plenty of gear i made that i have used for years that wouldn't be considered pretty by any stretch. The important part is the pride of using something you made with your own hands.
Congrats...
I will take it.

Also, i used about 4 or 5 wraps.

It works on my tarp ridgeline made from zingit. I imagine it should be the same.
If you wanted to use Lawson's glowwire instead it would have a much better hold for the prussics. Not splicable...
Ah, my bad. Yeah. I have done that too. Loop in one end with three prussics on the line. Use the last prussic for a truckers hitch.

I dont have a guide, but i made mine out of zing it. I used floral wire to make the splices. Loop on one end and a small adjustment whoopie sling for minor changes on the other. I aimed for 80 to 90%...
I am about 230 lbs and i was fine in mine for a little while. My wife put my 30 lb son in with me and it was too much for it. I would guess the limit to be about 240-250lbs.

Mine wasn't a SRL. Mine was also different because i had sewn a bugnet on my hammock prior to making this change and running a ridgeline through the ends was a challenge.
It is not a "channel" so to...
Glad it worked out for you.
It would not be a SRL, but you can add a ridgeline. When I employed this method I chose an adjustable version that used two small carabiners.
I tied the whipping in a...
I made post a long time ago about whipping the ends and flipping them inside out. The end result is a knob that resembles the channel gathered ends if you like that look more.
The Hennessy style...
Make sure you extend them out if you drill the fiberglass handle.

Well done. I have had a project on my to do list for a long time. Happy to see when DIY projects go this well. Congrats!

What size hole did you drill in the poles?
What kind of a bit did you use?

Right on. Looks pretty sweet. How much does it weigh?

I just do the inside but it is up to you.

I am thinking that it depends on the diameter of the inner cord. The smaller diameter cordage might pull the strands apart. I don't think it would reduce the load capacity much.
Teedee and...
Have fun Shug. You are going to make a vid of it, right?
We shared the hospitality site, 26.
I know Gracie and I forgot to sign in. Sorry bout that.
Agreed. On the deliciousness of the food, the quickness on how it disappeared, and the limited amount of time available to spend with everyone. Hanging out once a year is clearly not enough. Looking...
Those dates were pretty good! Thanks for bringing them.
The Phantom grappler has more potential in this regard without the need for extra lines.
Very nice!
I told a friend at work about this and in his name I am putting my hat in the ring. He doesn't have any camping gear yet and this would be a huge leap in the process.
"Enter me in the giveaway."
Awesome video as always Shug.
I got to try out an Amok briefly when Mr. Derek Hansen brought it for show and tell at the Texas Hang last November. It is a cool piece of gear. Plenty of people were...
If you use the 83% guideline for the hammock ridgeline it will give you a little more than half a foot of overlap on each side. The deluxe will give you more. It depends on how much protection you...
OES has a maccat standard that fits those specs.
I would like to see a picture of what you are talking about.
2qzq makes an uq protector that you would hang loosely under the hammock. As far as the moisture issue, try pitching the tarp a little lower or use a set of doors or grizbeaks to close off the...
Count us in.
I need to actually read this thread to find out the details, but I might be able to make this one.
I have hung in the polyD hammock a few nights and I really like it. It felt a little narrow at first but a few tweaks of the SRL I added and now it is awesome. Speedhooks make it a fast and...
Had a blast. Looking forward to next year!
I found a one liter platypus at site 26. If it is yours, message me your address and I will mail it to you.
The wife and I are hoping to make it this year. I have not reserved anything as of yet.
Recieved mine too. Thanks!
Nice work!
Hello from Houston. Welcome to the forums.
Awesome pictures guys. I'm sorry I missed it. There is always next year!
Good to know. Thanks!
Man I am missing out. Have fun guys. Looking forward to all the pictures!
They changed their lifetime policy to a one year policy. It was only a matter of time. They can only sustain the return policy abuse for so long.
I'm not embarrassed to say I laughed very heartily at that...
Work has gotten in the way again. We will be missing this hang for the second time. We will miss ya'll. Look forward to the hang report.
