I think you will be good with a 23” and R4.2. I’ve slept in a RR with a 20” Big Agnes pad, I forget the name of it, but self inflating and an R5 value, about 2” thick. That with a zero degree Big...

Warbonnet makes great products and has great customer service. But when Brandon runs a sale, a lot of what I read is people complaining that they just recently bought one when there was no sale. Come...
Not sure if this has been posted, but 50% off this hammock at REI.com. ENO OneLink Hammock Shelter System with DoubleNest Hammock. Plus if you're a member you get a $20 gift card too.
13x10. This is a great tarp for the money.

I bought one of these a few weeks ago but haven't used it in my hammock yet. I took it with me last weekend for tent camping but it was way too warm to use it. I can say the quality is top notch and...
[QUOTE=doubledutch;1581098]Looks good! That is the precise reason I love that tarp. You can camp under it opposed to just hanging under it. I bought their cinch straps before discovering Dutchware....
I've used one for both hammock and tent camping. They are good tarps and excellent for the money. Around $100 on Amazon.

I have one of these and like it a lot. It has kept me dry in some pretty nasty weather. Good coverage and plenty of room for gear too.
So I got the 20% off REI email and figured I'd check out what I need. I'm one of those who often doesn't know what I need until I see it. I came across a MSR Twin Brothers tent, and saw that with one...
I had one these for several years, used it all types of weather and the tarp has performed great. It easily covers my Warbonnet RR with plenty of extra space for gear.

I would recommend taking a sleeping bag. There's nothing worse than being cold. The down bags pack down small, are light, but are pretty expensive. I would do a little research on synthetics and see...
I really recommend this tarp. It provides a lot of room under it for hammock and gear, packs down small and it's my go to tarp for hammocking and other cover such as over a small tent. I've had one...
I agree with testing it in the field. The correct distance is key to a good hang, but much of it is preference. Forget the calculator.
Looks like the link changed. Go to rei.com and then click on the Outlet tab, then deal of the week. I just looked, they're still there.
I put this in the Grand Trunk sub forum also, but thought I would put it here too. A good deal for people who like these and inexpensive price for those looking to get into the hobby.
REI Outlet,...
These are good tarps. I've used one for years and it has held up well.

Yes. The tarp is a sil-nylon Aqua Qwest large guide tarp, stuffs about the same size as my WBRR. The poles are 2 Kelty Tarp pole and 2 Kelty (or REI) Staff poles.
This was in the Wasatch National Forest. I was using a BA Two Track pad and a zero degree down bag. I don't remember the R value for the Two Tract but it is not as insulated as R5. It dropped to 31...

The link below shows North America deaths from black and brown bear attacks. It reflects only the documented, proven deaths by bears, not total attacks. I imagine there are many attacks/charges that...

I have an Aqua Qwest large sil nylon guide tarp. I think it is 11'x13'. I get excellent coverage and can stow all my moto gear under it. It helps to use some bungie tie loops and extra cord to keep...

I never had any issues with the Spindrift flapping in the wind, and we had plenty of wind at times. However, if I were to try and reduce looseness in the Spindrift, I would put something in the lower...
Hey Eddie. I used the Spindrift over my RR with a tarp on a recent 6 state back roads moto-camping trip. Everything worked great. The tarp caught a lot of the moisture in the air and the Spindrift...

I didn't use it as an uq, but I slept in a zero degree sleeping bag with an R5 pad under it in my hammock and was quite warm at 31 degrees F.
No trees so I had to use the tent. One of our guys got a flat from an old railroad spike while we were riding the old grade of the transcontinental railroad. So we cowboy camped just off the grade....
These were from a recent motorcycle ride through a few of our western states.

These look pretty stout, and comfortable.

I have a BA 78"x20" sleeping pad. I find it too narrow when it's in between the two layers of the RR. It slides to the side. I posted a similar question and the general consensus was a 26" wide pad...
Not sure if this has been asked before, but I didn't find a thread on it. In regard to packing the Ridge Runner, can you leave the Spindrift on and stuff everything together? And, can you remove the...
I have a Ridge Runner and will be camping in CO, Utah, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming this September. I've been told to expect daily highs, depending on where I am, to be in the 70's and 80's, and nights...
I haven't used mine yet, but will when the weather gets colder. They look like they close well on the video.
I debated the same thing; however, not for a month. I decided to go with the Cloudburst and bite the bullet and pay extra for the door kit. I like the bottom cut (straight) of the Cloudburst better...
I got the cloudburst and the door kit. This adds to the cost as compared to a superfly, but I like the straight cut at the bottom of the cloudburst and the tabs are positioned just right for the RR.
I'm not sure if the material list (poles and lengths) for the superfly mod would be the same for the cloudburst since the pull out tabs on the cloudburst are positioned differently than on the...
I've used a sleeping bag on my first trips. I've had my RR hammock for a couple of months and my rectangular sleeping bag has worked great. However, with the temps getting hotter I will get a...
Sounds like a nice trip. I immediately got my hammock after motocamping and sleeping in a tent for the first time in 40 years about two months ago. I know what you mean, it was a painful experience,...
You should spring for the door kit. Gives you privacy and bad weather protection.
Very informative and really good info. Nice write up and pretty much consistent with a lot of other long term reviews. I was just on Amazon's hammock pages and saw this hammock again, as I had...
X2 on the Kelty adjustable tarp poles. I have two and used one a few weeks ago tent camping where there was only one tree. We had some strong winds and pole was rock solid.
When it was chilly, I could sleep with my 25 degree sleeping bag. But now that it's warmed up, the sleeping bag is too hot. So I'm looking for advice on the right size pad or air mattress to put...
The RR is my first hammock. Tried it for the first time 2 weeks ago at Big Bend Ranch State Park and slept great. Set up and take down were a breeze, much quicker than a tent. I find I'm more...
I just ordered two sets of these for indoor hanging.

I just got the same set up but have not had a chance to try it. I hope to try it the last week in April. I got the cloudburst with the door kit in lieu of the Superfly. It was a more expensive way to...
Thanks for the replies; however, after much reading I went with a Warbonnet Ridgerunner.
There is a three series video on youtube that compares the WBRR, JRB, and another brand. It's called battle of the bridges I think.
