Got the same here. Killer deal if you have a cub for the cub!
A 2nd for UK Hammocks. They are a solid product and with customs & shipping from US you'll save a heap of cash...
... still end up ordering odd things from the US but Dutch makes light and...
You know I was thinking about the doors on my SF just the other day... Then I get back on the forum after a long hiatus and bang!
Exactly what this place is for - Thanks for the ideas. I'll be sure...
Anyone else seen this?
It looks like a neat solution but hadn't heard anything and from a simple google search doesn't reveal much...
Am I just missing something from being in the IK?
...
+1 on the ukhammocks gear.
I've gone the same way, as the HG stuff looked top notch but ukhammocks are in the same ball park and price wise there's just no comparison if you are outside the US.
Welcome to the forum.
What sort of hammock is that you have - sounds like the kind you put up in the garden rather than camping? Pics would be good.
Welcome.
Whereabouts in Malaysia? I've done some travelling over there but only had the hammock out in Borneo.
Welcome from an ex-Brummie in Suffolk.
You're in the right place for hammock knowledge.
From a strength point of view a SL should always be outperformed by a DL.
Not only is there a greater amount (cross section) to carry the weight but probably more importantly there's the 'safety...
+1 on the DJ.
What's for sale is basically my standard set up at a lower price! - good luck with the sale.
You consider posting to the UK? And what would be the cost?
I'd read a couple of threads about related topics and went for whoopies on my HHDJXL. I used tarp flyz on a continuous ridgeline for the tarp.
To get around the snake skins problem I sourced some...
No worries, nice to see you'll get it sold one way or another.
Sorry - I wasn't suggesting shipping inc (what a deal!)... Ignore that anyway, if it's more than £135 I'm going to be stung anyway.
PM with your best shipping price and if I can take the hit on...
Hey, If you are happy to ship to the UK and it's shipped as a gift (so I don't get stung for tax + handling fees) I'm up for it.
Just one question though, I'm planning on using this as a "almost...
Hey guys.
Can't add more than Shewie, donmacn & others - except to say that the endless fettling of kit is part of the fun!
Welcome aboard MW & Gumms.
Welcome from up the road in suffolk.
Still available? I'll get in line...
So I used to be pretty thin...
I have a DJ XL and used it in Borneo this year in jungle and by the beaches. Coped well with both.
Not sure if the Garda Hitch will work with the cord though - I tried it and it didn't seem that...
Hi from the other side of the country.
Good to see more faces from the UK - increases the chances we'll actually get HF hang organised between the lot of us...!
Can only second a lot of what's been said.
I've had a good ol' read of the posts and made my choice - remember there's as much help for you to set up / install as there is to help you decide in...
Just converted my HH with the JRB kit as well. Followed the information below (thanks kiecker! :D).
Here's the result:
24922
That's some top quality information there Monkey!
I get so torn between the Jungle Ninja ways (everything needs to be TOUGH) and the trail trekking (things can be a LOT lighter).
Maybe that's...
Whoa, West Brom!
I'm originally from Aston!
You'll find loads of information here...
Welcome from a fellow newbie.
Hey, Good to see another UK member.
I'm still on the HH - The Deep Jungle XL is just right for now (I think a bigger tarp will be next on the gear list...).
+1 on the Deep Jungle.
6'4" and 95kg and not a problem. Not sure about the rating on the hammock though - I've seen the XL version rated at 300lb in the blurb but sometimes shown as 250lb!? HH...
This isn't helping me resist untilnext month! :crying
As you say though - it's all about VFM and I will spend on a great, light product if it's going to last as well.
Aaargh you guys!
Now I'm really tempted!
I've got all the gear to go lightweight on the suspension on order but then, Cuben... oh, if I ordered this month I could use it for a trip in August...
Not a bad idea. did you have any times for places in mind?
Cheers again for the IT support. :cursing:
There's just dome things that can't be done with a phone in the middle of a field. ho hum.
Cheers fella. Won't be trying anything like that on the smartphone again!
Hey,
Hope you don't mind UK guys but I've added you as contacts.
2 more important developments:
1. Load of ordersx placed for converting the HH over to whoopie slings and sinlge line tarp....
Hey all,
Despite having a google account I don't seem to be able to add myself!?
Any chance you can add me (above HF name), to Sudbury, UK? It's a little (in continental US terms) way north...
Good to see some other local representation (even though I'm originally a Brummie).
Whereabouts in Suffolk? I'm Sudbury area.
Not sure about the dimensions but I can +1 the DH XL. I'm 6'4" and about 220lb - still plenty of room for me and kit to roll around in there!
...and isn't there a Clark hammock called the Vertex. If you are cash rich or you make a convert of your partner this'd work.
:thumbup::thumbup:
 (on account of not finding a wave).
Hope I'll be out in the wilds of Norfolk in a month or so - will try and get some photos online.
Lurking over - time to...
Hey all,
After some expert lurking I've finally 'crossed the barrier'!
First got myself a taste for the hammock on an exped. in 2001. Since then I've been a ground-dweller until I had the...
