I have found no difference with my mod. I did mine based on less cords for Boy Scouts to trip over guides and pulling down my set up. Over all the wind did nothing to it.

I step it off. 1 long step is about 3 feet. 4 steps equal 12 feet. That's my minaul spacing.
I do the pack cover/hammock beside me. Then I have sewn in D rings on either side of my hammock with I hang my boots with a carabiner. Get in the hammock and hang my boots with easy access.
Dutch and his team are great. Love talking hammocks / camping. Thank you for everything.
I have turn my poncho liner into an UQ. Then hang my regular UQ under the liner. Plus you get duel use for one item in your pack.
You picked up another reader on this one. I'm a scout leader that has been working to get our troop into hanging. Some camporee we do are in open fields. Lite weight stands would be great. This also...
MAD777 LOL that is not my set up just the one from Nite Ize web site. I guess they wanted to show you could hang your gear. I like the system because I also have their iPhone case which come with...
Nite Ize gear line is what I tried into my ridge line. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/15/hysaruza.jpg
My bad then. I was right side tent platform.
Now for my picture. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/25/y8y9eges.jpg
Did a little hiking on the Appalachian Trail in PA last weekend. So I set up my hammock in the trees but didn't think about this sign. Lol I'm safe being in my hammock.
I ran 1/8" shock cord from my corner tie out to the opposite door and clipped it with a s-beaner. Then ran another the opposite direction. The shock cord let's you sneak in and the door pulls closed....
I have tied in a Nite Ize gear line organization system. I can use S-beaner's to hang my iPhone lights and a pocket that I made from rip stop nylon....
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/03/18/abyzu8ev.jpg. Maybe this would help. I made that DIYGS winter tarp. The room inside is just right. Not sure I would want it any smaller. Anyway thought I would...
I just picked up on this as well. I'm with Troop 67 in Dover, PA and have started the hammock camping with our Troop. Big thanks to this forum, The Ultimate Hang and DIY Gear Supply. I would love...
I found with my stands at 10 ft you don't get the hang angle of 30 degrees unless you really choke up the suspension. I changed my ridge pole to 13 ft. Even when I put eye bolts in the walls to hang...
Scott at DIY is a great help. My whole set up came from him.
Great idea. I'm a scout leader and when the scouts get to playing man hunt or night time capture the flag hammock cords capture scouts. I use LED Christmas lights. 12' string with AA batteries....
Guyfawkes that what I figured. With my double sided stuff sacks the suspension cords are right at the opens ready to go. The sack stays on the tarp or hammock. So I'm thinking I do the same thing.
...
I'm half tempted to make a set to try. Right now I made a double end stuff sack. Is the snake skin concept better / easier to use. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/01/11/ma7ybyny.jpg here are my stuff...
I have to agree. I made a cardboard template with his dimension of 1/4 of the tarp. After sewing the main ridge line fold the tarp in half then in quarters. Lay the template on top and use a cutting...
DIY Gear Supply tarp I made over Thanksgiving weekend. This was my hang with snow and freezing rain. Stayed dry and warm. The this tarp. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/24/ny4upyva.jpg
Yes every thing came from his site. Electric blue is the color. I think some of overwhelming blue color came from the white balance on my camera and snow reelection. Scott shared with me I should...
Hammock, suspensions, tree huggers, tarp with cords, stakes, clips and stuff sacks come in at 4 lbs. our troop tent is 10 lbs. that's what I based it on for the scouts understand. Not sure I would do...
Since we are all hangers and don't need our old tents. I cut my fiberglass poles. All joking aside, I had some old poles that I cut up.
Thanks for all the remarks. It's blue but I think my camera lighting was off too. I know some of our scouts are ready to hang. My next goal is to set up a Saturday and let them sew a hammock. I have...
Thanks to Ultimate Hang, DIY Gear Supply and everyone one on here. This weekend our troop is doing a cabin camping trip. I wanted to test out my new gear. First night at a low of 27 degrees and...
I'm getting ready to start my 4 season tarp on Black Friday. What made the grosgrain for a ridgeline better? I understand straight but was there other reasons? I was going to do the flat-felled /...
