I have purchased several New Rivers from Arrowhead (one for me, one for a gift). Good quality and warm, do not stuff down as small as my down UQ but a great sleeper none the less.
Moved mine from September to July!! Thanks, might to get to out in the field before the big quilts come out :D
Missed the boat on the July group, but got on the September list...
Probably call them "King Crabs"?
+1 on the Mountain Goat skins, got them on my tadpole and they work great. Ridge line pockets on end are handy too!
I am using them on my indoor setup as it doesn't see a lot of hooking, adjustments and unhooking. Minimal wear so far. Went back to whoopies in the bush.
hc --I have some older NRS bags that are heavy duty, meant for river rafting. I recently go some sea to summit bags for some lighter weight bags. All seal fine when rolled correctly and I have tested...
The spacing and straight line make me think something poked it when it was still rolled up.
I would think roll top dry bags would keep them dry during transit, works for my canoe trips. My concern would be, given the length of the race, if they get damp at night while in use from any of the...
I have an Old Man Winter and it has been great, have double pole mod too.
I'm in. Should be interesting her in the Puget Sound area!
Dutch now carries a Hexon 1.0 rated at 250lbs. Have seen any durability test yet but it looks cool.
I have used my HG 20* Burrow and Incubator with an ENO DL, Dutch's 11 footers of different fabrics and my 11'Roaming Gnome (Hyper-D), but I have only been down to around 34-35 degrees. The hooks...
I got the Hexon 1.6 and it is sweet, rapidly becoming the favorite for in and around the house...

Not a can, but Coleman....
Just got up from a nap in my new 1.6 hexon 11 footer, pretty fine!! Almost "awesome" (Shug beat me to it). I have one (or two of) every material Dutch offers and the only one I don't regularly use...
I was pondering the same question and thought about using the slide in receiver hitch and building a pole assembly to fit in that. That should handle one end and it can be built as sturdy as your...
Come on in...the waters fine:rolleyes:
Fell off the Dutch wagon again I am afraid. One cannot have too many hammocks ..right?
I would not worry about the bury, I would worry about how high your straps are gonna have to be to get close to a 30* angle. :scared:
Like Paul said, give 'em a good shake. I have not had enough moisture remain that it was a problem. When I get home I air it all out. Might be a problem if you rain camped for days on end like her in...
Love mine. Keeps me toasty every trip. Haven't gotten close to Shug temps though :scared:
Nice job, looks pretty sturdy.
I have a boonedox and I have used it a fair amount so far. Be aware that you will be pretty close to the ground and you will have to tweak the hang a little (I use 11' hammocks with the extension and...
Nice write-up on a great bunch of folks!!
Get well Mama Smurf!!
Dutchware has 'em, nice yellow color too. But beware, once you get a little Dutch bling it is hard to stop
I usually have it up, in skins or porch mode. I like it for many of the reasons mentioned (falling organic matter, NW weather) but I must also try and minimize my time in the sun to keep the skin...
Added to me previous comment. If you setup your hammocks w/ continuous loops you can switch out from hammock to hammock for your testing. Works great until you infect some other poor souls and they...
Both of mine have them and I use them, if you can draw the edge up snug when you are in it you should be ok. Unless of course you are winter camping with Shug!
Big +1 for sure!
I have had all three. Argon has the most stretch (much like the ENO which I also started with), then Nylon is in the middle and Poly has the least stretch. Another way to kind of think about...
Welcome from the PNW! Lots of good info here for refining your hang. Shug's videos are very helpful and add a really fun way to get the info.
Keep us posted if you don't mind some extra "hangers on". I am outside the Puyallup area and have a couple of guys that would be interested depending on the work schedule vs hang date.
Four of the guys I camp with have converted and my daughter is teetering on the edge.:shades:
Most give 83% of hammock length as a basic starting point, I have an adjustable one so I can find the length I like as each hammock seems to vary a little for me. Then once I find the sweet spot in...
I have a Roaming Gnome as my backpacking out in the bush hammock and it is great, but I keep it mostly for that. However, I started with an Eno double and still have it and several Dutch hammocks in...
I just flip back and tie to the side pull outs on my Old Man Winter.
USN 76-85 Submarine Service
Very nice detail!
I have been thinking about making a piece to go in the 2" receiver of my truck (someone else on here recently asked about it and it got me thinking). Something that would fit in the bed and then...
I did until I started sleeping under it several times a week. So to save on wear and tear and keep it for backpacking I put the HG 20* up in a loft bag and made a fleece TQ that works really well in...
IMHO...DH gear is well worth the wait!
I have one of each (yes I am trying to deal with my HAS issues). All 11' and I like the Argon and the Nylon very much (my general all around pair including indoor several times a week+ Loaners for...
Mine just came in and it is great. Always good quality stuff from the 2QZQ camp!
Will the Kevlar hammock also be bullet proof?
I got an 11' Roaming Gnome and the Smurfs were kind enough to indulge me by making it with the shelf and it is great. Mine is the standard width of 57-58 in 1.6 HyperD Grey with yellow peak covers,...
Ready to take orders yet? :shades:
