Last year it was held the weekend following.
Hello Inbaker, and welcome to HF. There is a Hoosier Hang which is held usually in the Spring, and the Halloween Hang in late October or early November. There was a winter hang this past winter. The...
I wish I could have been there Mule. Sounds like a great time was had by all.
I will not be attending either. The past 3 days of rain on top of fertilizer has forced me to stay home and tend to my yard. Hope to attend the Halloween Hang.
Sounds right to me Ron.
To hike it in 3 days is an awesome feat. Congratulations to the both of you.
I agree Rolloff. I hiked about 1/2 of the trail SoBo, and it whooped me.
I always see bikes on Nebo Ridge Trail and Combs road. I've never come across a mountain bike on the path to Browning hill. While I've rarely seen horses on the trail, I've seen plenty of evidence...
I think that I have seen a topo map with gps tracs posted by BonsaiHiker at one time or another.
Thank you, and see ya soon my friend.
Mule ~ I have been to Brown Hollow with ya, but I am wondering about Bad Hollow (formerly known as Bat Hollow). I thought it was down the south side of Browning Hill somewhere. Isn't that the place...
I know a few of you have been to Bad Hollow. My question to you is: how do you get there from Browning Hill?
There is a gravel parking lot at the point where your tracs cross Crooked Creek Road. There is a sign marking it's location, and that is where you will park your vehicle. The TT runs along the north...
Very nice video Keith. Looked like a great time was had by all.
Wish I could make that Hang & Hunt. Coolest hang event on this Forum ever! Good luck.
Kind of hard to believe that someone would leave all of that behind, but it is sort of cool.
I don't think Browning Hill is being considered any longer. Could be considered a day hike from Brown Hollow.
Well done Jimbeam.
I agree
Welcome to the Forum Charliez317. Hope you can make it out to the local group hangs.
If people are thinking of April, maybe Earth Day weekend.
What about a Saint Patrick's Day weekend Hang?
March 19,20,21
CVII is in the Deam, but Browning Hollow and Browning Hill are in the HNF just SW of Story, IN. This area is south of Brown County State Park. You get there from SR135.
It has been a couple of years since I was last there, but I think it probably the same distance in from the North trailhead of Nebo Ridge Trail. Others may remember a little better.
I like Browning Hollow. It has a very nice creek, and plenty of room for a large group. Also, it isn't that bad of a walk in. Browning Hill, on the other hand, is a neat place, but water is a...
Maybe having it in March when the kids are on Spring Break makes more since. Mine are all grown, so it doesn't really matter too much to me.
I'm fine with the last 3, but will go with the flow.
I wish I could have been there. Seems a great time was had by all.
Same here...I was really looking forward to shooting the bull with ya Mule. On another trip perhaps. Have fun my friend.
Yeah, I agree Ryan. I was looking forward to catching up with you as well. Have a good time my friend.
I thought I was going to attend, but as it turns out I won't be. I only was able to do a quick visit in the Spring, so missing the Halloween Hang is a big deal. Hope to see you all next year. I look...
Yes Sir, I look forward to seeing you as well.
Mule ~ I look forward to checking out your Amok hammock & tarp system. It seems pretty innovative.
Yep, the water situation can most definitely change by a month or so from now. This is Indiana after all.
I believe TrailMedic made a very nice sign-up sheet for one of the hangs. Maybe you can get it from him.
Yes
I agree.
I would like this as well, not that I have to plan way in advance. Just seems a bit silly to vote on a date each time.
CVII has ample space, and is easily accessible. I'll be happy with wherever is decided.

Welcome to the Forum from another Hoosier.
I would be there, but already have committed to plans for that weekend.
Looks like y'all are going to have great weather for the weekend.
Welcome from another in the Hoosier land. I had considered a Henry Shire's TarpTent , and a Zpacks shelter before. They are quality products, but the truth is the ground is just too dang...
Welcome to the HF
Haha I didn't catch that. Yeah, you're right lol
Oh man, that really sucks to be so close.
Some nice pictures Oms
Mule, how much are you charging for one?
Welcome from the crossroads of America...Indiana. Cheers
