I can get additional details...
I have the Go! Hammock and I am waiting for the Apex shelter to go with it.
I really enjoy my Go! Hammock. I did have to tweak/swap out some of the stock suspension and all that to get it where I...
Hey all, I know I'm a little late to the party on this thread, but I figured that I'd put my two cents in...
I currently own the Go! Hammock and find that it is well made and plenty comfortable. I...
I have now used mine for 4 nights and it worked great as well.
I designed it to rest over the ridgeline, so the rope set up would work testing on top of the bug net as well. I did think about wear and tear on the bug net, but figured that it would be no worse...
I recently bought and have been using the tato gear ridgeline quilt hooks (Thanks to Dutch for vending these).
I think they work great and they really make a difference on the way the quilt keeps...
I have been contemplating the same thing with my WBBB, I just haven't gotten around to sewing yet. I was planning on sewing the quilt hook just below the zipper because most of the time I have found...
I keep mine on the floor under the bed, but put in a very large trash bag that way the quilts don't get dusty and aren't compressed.
They are usually pretty quick. They seem like they last a lot longer because you can see the wall of dust coming your way for miles. I don't think that I've been in the meat of one for more than...
I agree with ataris121, I would drop the hammock and likely put it and my quilts back in their bags and then hunker down with a mask/bandana covering nose and mouth. I wouldn't likely be carrying...
I really enjoy using my dutch buckles. Simple adjustment so that you can easily shorten or lenghten the straps as needed.
Big props to Dutch and his Elf. I just ordered some quilt clips and a couple other items and I got notification that my items shipped before I even got a chance input the receipt into my account...
If you don't have the hangle (which only means you haven't been hooked by Dutch yet), another way of getting the angle pretty close is to use your hand as a guide. While, sticking your thumb straight...
This sounds as awesome as Dutch's products! Count me in.
I have a WBBB so I have to roll left, but when I'm at home in my bed, I roll right.
I'm in. and thanks!
I just used plain old black spray paint on it. Because it was just a shower curtain, I didn't care what type of paint I used.
I'd suggest using a fabric paint on the sil tarp.
I'm waiting on my Flight Jacket to arrive.... Can't wait, especially since I'm getting a nice little preview.
I only used the fiberglass tape for the one I made.
I removed the tub magnets, but doubled up on the amount of tape, so mine still doesn't even come close to being part of the UL club...
I'm a side sleeper both in a bed and in a hammock and I don't use anything between my knees. Having an underquilt does make a huge difference for warmth, as Te-Wa pointed out, when your side...
I haven't come up with any more logos yet... Santa is bringing me a Top quilt, so I might have to get a stencil going for the quilt stuff sacks....
I've been using some continuous loops made from 1.75 Lash-it to create prussic knots and just cinching the prussic down nice and tight on my tie out line (also 1.75 Lash-it). So far, I haven't had...
Since I've started hammock camping and started using some DIY "ultralight" backpacking gear I have trimmed 9 pounds off my pack weight so far. I still need to upgrade my tarp and get a...
I've made two different kinds of soft shakles that were featured on that site and have been using them in place of my regular carabiners on my tree straps. They work well and help cut a few grams.
I'm a big fan of the Warbonnet Blackbird. Less than 2pounds and compresses down to about an 7 inch long 4 inch diameter cylinder and is less than $200
Myself and a few other guys were planning on watching it from Mount Baldy in AZ, but given we had backpacked 10 miles with 2k feet in elevation gain that day, by the time we got to camp, hung our...
Rook and PegLegPeat, I've just uploaded the files I used to print and create stencils for the Lost logo'ed stuff. Feel free to grab and have fun...
...
the sway was one of my fears about hammocking. I get motion sick fairly easy, but with my blackbird staked out I have no worries.
Anyone happen to know the weight of the 12x9 Chinook?
Shug's videos are a great place to start (super informative and funny), plus you can check out fellow AZ hangar Dejoha's (Derek Hansen) book www.theultimatehang.com
Both are great starting points....
I folded it and then slid it into a tyvek bag I made to fit it. I tried to find a way to roll it/stuff it so that it would work with a snake skin, but it's a little too bulky and doesn't compress...
I set mine up in the backyard right before a monsoon storm here in AZ and it held up great. The only issue I ended up having is that the wind was blowing so much that it pulled the stakes out of the...
I was inspired and went out and made one of these after reading this thread. I went for the diamond approach. I think I might have went a little overboard on the tape reinforcement.... Put a strip...
Try this link: http://hammocker.com/whoopie-sling
It has options for you to choose what size amsteel you are using, what size fixed loop you want and overall length of the whoopie. Once you put in...
I don't know what it's like to hammock in the humidity, but here in AZ, we just pray for shade, hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. Since it's so dry out, just by keeping shirts wet and a wet bandanna around...
I'm a side sleeper as well, and have slept pretty well in my WBBB. That foot box really helps stay comfortable on my side.
So I got bored and decided that while I was doing some thread injecting and rope splicing that I would also make some stencils related to LOST. So I came up with a new station, the Hammock station. ...
Thanks all. I think I'm going to be testing out some soft shackles on my next hang in place of a carabiner/dutch clip.
I've been thinking about finding additional ways to trip some ounces from my overall set up, but am still pretty new to the hammock way of life.
I've noticed that most people either attach their...
Good luck with that Baloo/OLS OWLS training. I'll most likely be taking that course here in AZ in the fall. I'll have to do the same thing and see if I can get a few converts myself. I'm a very...
I just saw an add for the Sol Escape Bivvy, which makes this product look like a beefed up emergency blanket in a sleeping bag style. Given that it's supposed to be breathable and weighs in at 8.8...
I'll be looking forward to that. Just got myself registered.
