I hate that I missed the trip, sounds like you all had a great time.
Maybe we can setup another trip on the Uwharrie Trail, at Wood Run sometime.
I use a Hammock Bliss No Seeum Mesh, love it. My wife and two friends also have one. We have use them on quite a few backpacking trips.
Very satisfied.
I up to buy more as well, just let us know when it is available.
I just spoke with FishGeek today, we really want to do the hammock camping station. He will be getting out detaills very soon.
Check out the Uwharrie Trail, Wood Run is an excellent place to backpack.
Man,
I have Boy Scout training that morning, but I may head on up and meet with you all that evening.
Sounds like a good trip.

Temps down to 45 I use an underquilt made of DWR nylon and a large heat sheet.
I had back surgery in 2005, herniated disc. I enjoy backpacking and camping very much, but since the surgery, at about 2:00 a.m. I would start tossing and turning with back hurting. This was when I...

I have both the mini and regular atomic, love them both.
Sherpa,

Thanks
I agree, it does sag some. I set in mine high, then recline in it a while before bed time, then I can make an height adjustments that may be necessary.
I usually do not have to re-adjust, I guess it...
I agree, my Hammock Bliss has been great for me. My wife even has one now. You cannot beat the price of the thing, and it is a good product.

Welcome,
I am also a scouter from Asheboro, NC.
This is the greatest site ever to learn and explore hammock camping at its best.
I just started hanging about 4 months ago, since then I have one friend, my son and now my wife that have traded their tents for hammocks.
I am interested in buying enough insultex to use in making an underqulit. Anyone know where I can find some?
Thanks
I have checked all the NC state park websites, they do not show any rules governing hammock use.
Welcome aboard,
I am an old scout leader myself and I agree on giving up sleeping on the ground, my back is better off in the hammock.
Good luck with your new hammock.
Check out my pictures that I posted of my guy lines and ridge line.
This way of tying them up works great for me and it is fast when setting up the tarp.

I am 6'-2" and 255 lbs. I use a hammock Bliss no se-em mesh. It is rated for 350 lbs and has plenty of room inside.
I agree, The braided mason line is a lot stonger and will not pull apart.
