Did I miss something? Confused.....
Looking forward to seeing your review!
Here in Michigan, a bunch of us have hammock hot tents. Can't beat it for winter camping.
I've got a thread under the Simply Light Designs vendor subforum about my experiences with "The Cabin".
I've got that same setup for my CF tarp and love it. The simplicity is what I really like: button knot and a toggle to tighten it up. I do have a couple zing-it ridgelines that use nite eyes...
I'd shoot him an email to be sure. Meanwhile, I have the winter version for my 0 degree Enlightened Equipment Enigma TQ and HG 0 Degree Econ Incubator. It's a good fit, since the whole thing ends up...
Smart move...you don't get bonus points for freezing, especially in the winter. Nice job on the video and the snow on the trees was beautiful.
You'll be a happy camper with the Greylock 4. I bought mine a few years ago after seeing Shugs video and shortly after picked up a Greylock 3. I've had the G4 down below 0 a few times using...
#51...backyard hot tent plus an outing in northern Michigan. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20191201/8fb268670259896538b6ad4c837fd862.jpg
Not that I know of. He does have a bunch of stuff in the "gear up" section on sale plus is offering a free Apex pillow with a purchase of a Trail Lair hammock.
Pulling it is easy peasy with just a strap around my shoulder. Now, if the snow melts and the ground is showing, that's a whole different story...
What he said....I started with a Jet Sled Jr, then built a toboggan and now have to use a caboose because I have too much crap, including hot tent, stove, chainsaw, coffee pot, cast iron fry...
Carver, I always enjoy seeing what you've been up too! Hope all is well and we see more of your adventures soon. Winter camping season is coming up fast!
Glad to see this years crew coming together! Lets hope for lots of snow but not as much as last years snow...I'd be happy with 1-2 feet back there. Spending a couple hours digging out 3 feet of...
Looking good and it's a great color! Next step is adding some heat, because without a stove, it's a cold tent! Been there, done that....
Good looking color! Glad you like it. I found these pics in an email from Jared of the first time your hot tent was setup in his Idaho backyard.178258178259
Never had an issue using it on my gear and usually do two treatments for the summer hiking season. Lots of threads on HF about what to treat and how.
Yep! It will be good having them back home in the same state. Looking forward to seeing it at one of our winter camps.
I took the tether off of my SLD Apex pillow because I kept getting hung up on it when I got in and out. FYI, SLD is now offering the Apex Pillow free with purchase of a Trail Lair netted hammock: ...
I was just checking out Jared's website and he's now offering a FREE APEX PILLOW with the purchase of a Trail Lair. I've already got both and it's my go to pillow:...
5 to 10 below what it's rated for, plus I use an underquilt protector to supplement. Wind will rob heat from an UQ, so it's cheap insurance to bring it along.
If I'm going out for multiple days...
Using the tapatalk app, it looks just fine....at least it looks good there!
I'm a big fan of the line loc 3 and have them on all 4 of my tarps plus my hot tent. Here in Michigan, I get out year round. I have had some issues with the line locs icing up, but that's easily...
2020 trip planning thread is live:

Is this really the 6th time we'll convene at our home base by the river? That is affirmative! Our destination for 2020 is Green Timbers, in the snowy Pigeon River...
Ah, I see photobucket finally caught up with me...it is what it is and I'm not paying them a dime!
Nice looking setup and I've got a similar setup from SLD. My sleeve is the first generation without the mesh and the new one is a huge improvement. I only use my sleeve for winter trips with a...
68k funded of 20k needed. Wow. I'll stick with my trusty gathered end...
I had HG install line locs on my 11 foot CF standard with doors. In fact, all of my tarps that I own from Simply Light Designs have them. Jared from SLD has been using them for many years.
They...
A trip report is rare for One-click, so this trip must have been a special one! He texted me picture from the Deam on Saturday and next time I hear back he's on the NCT. Having a plan b, c, and d...
The North Country Trail in Michigan. Lots of beautiful sections and you can have some areas all to yourself if you choose correctly....
No carbon monoxide detector, since it's not as sealed up as a house would be and there's lots of airflow.
When I first set it up when I got it, I got a ton of smoke in the tent. But, after one of...
Opps, typo....meant 10" chainsaw. A 10 foot one would barely fit on my pulk[emoji6].
I haven't had any issues with the draw using my current angle, but I do see the benefits of getting it a...
Looks like Prototype #1 is coming home to Michigan, since another hanger here purchased it! I had mine out last week at a hang, in anticipation of the upcoming winter hang season. Every time I put...
Got any pictures and comments on the new 'Lair?
Knowing Jared, I would suspect that your email did not go through or ended up in his spam folder. He has a solid reputation replying to emails in a speedy manner and his customer service is top...
Crazy Michigan weather! I love those weather cams.
Yes, the GT 2020 thread will be coming soon...I just had to get through the Gluttony Hang first.
I don't equate any forum post reply from any member as "worthless". We are all here to contribute to the HF community in whatever way we choose.
There's lots of options out there for the OP to...
It's great seeing our HF members already getting into snow season! Here in Michigan we have a chance of it this weekend, so I'm planning on enjoying it in the backyard.
I've been using something very similar for the last couple years to keep track of things year round. After seeing people lose things, like car keys, it's a no brainer having something like this.
Check with Jared at www.simplylightdesigns.com . He's a wiz with the thread injector and customer service is too notch. He's done a bunch of custom work for me over the years.
Thought I'd chime in here since my ears were buzzing [emoji4]. Regarding hot tent evolution here in Michigan (to the best of my knowledge). I saw one at least 6 years ago at the Ludington winter...
#50 is in the books for October. 5 days of hanging spread over 2 outings. First one was a fall gathering in Foote Pond near Michigan's Lumbermans Monument. The other one was a couple days in my hot...
All in all, we had a pretty nice weekend in camp. The rain held off till Saturday night around 10, which motivated everyone to retire to their hammocks or tents. We had lots of hot tents this time,...
And food! Some of the gluttonous treats included grilled cheese breakfast sandwiches with BACON Sausage, ribs, bacon wrapped pork loin, bacon topped cinnamon rolls and lots of other food that tested...
Follow this link to post your pics and stories. Thank you!
I know it's kind of early to post a trip report of a group hang when it's barely started, but I'm at home waiting for my ride to head north and figured I might as well get something in place. So,...
All packed up and ready to go. The advance team is up there and enjoying a nice campfire. I'll be on the road by 8! Gonna be tough to sleep tonight as I anticipate the gluttonous feast ahead.
...
Sure, that looks very comfortable....nice thinking outside the box!
I'm so glad it's car camping, because the gear is piling up and I know I have more stuff like the pop-up canopy and table in the garage. Carpooling up with my buddy Gerard whose bringing German beer...
I've pulled together a few things too (sil poncho, wind shirt, hiking pants, winter camp pot, plus a couple other things). Looks like fall weather is here with great temps for hanging. Can't wait...
