I was thinking of bringing a batch of chili as well. I tend to not make it too dainty though. Gotta keep the hammock warm at night ya know?

Missy Lou is a +1... Hmmmm
Very short out and back, but the climb to the lake is no joke! Scenery is well worth it though. There is only one real campsite, but lots of trees to choose from.
[QUOTE=Stone;1190975]Talked to the state park today. They are expecting us and excited.
Hopefully not waiting for us with tasers! :scared:
Are the dates set in stone for this yet? I have to make a decision soon about this.
Later the better for me. Would like to get both the winter hang and this one in, but can't do two weekends in a row.
Going:
Stone
Boudah + Quincy (Dog)
Shogun
It stopped raining as soon as I got to the Winter Hang last year. The curse was broken! Besides, you wouldn't even notice the rain if you were sitting on a barstool eating a cheeseburger like the...
Maybe this hang will keep us from getting caught in a blizzard in the UP eh Stone? I'm in for this!
What were you doing trying to pack her into an REI flash 65?
I have the same hammock, and my UGQ Winter Dream 11 fits over it with tons of room to spare. I'm buying the hanger 11 for fairer weather. His quality is second to none, and wait times are...
I think Deep lake sounds good. Sure we can find something to do other than drink....not sure what that is yet, but.....
Does anyone know if this place is friendly to hangers? Looking to do and overnight out here, but it doesn't look like they have backcountry camping. Anyone familiar with this park/area?
You can borrow mine! LOL!!:shades:
I think Blind Lake is close to a road. I know that some have parked on the side of that road and did the short hike in for an over-nighter. You may consider that. Anyone know any details about...
For more of a "spring" feel, I vote for Pinckney/Waterloo area. Pigeon River, Jordan River, Hoist Lakes are all great places, but you may run into colder and snowier weather even into April up there.
Bump to the top. Black one still for sale.
Shipping out today, thanks OldGuy...Black one is still available.
I have 2 Mountainsmith Swift 2 Lumbar Packs for sale. Both are like new, only used about 8-9 times. $40 each or $70 sold as a pair. CONUS.
If so...where's the closest bar so we can get a cheeseburger? Right Stone?
We'd have to stay at the Beachwood sites for that!
:scared: WOW!!!! Really? :scared:
Should I say I'm not coming so the rain will change to snow?
This was sold to Jayson....Please close!
Mmmmmm.....Bourbon!
It won't be like the pizza from that gas station in Mesick though, that stuff was amazing!
Don't get me wrong. I want snow, but you know my track record right?
It's official....I'm going! Better bring your rain gear!
I'll take the black one!
Hammock is sold!! Please close the thread.
I'm trying to locate a new home for my HH Expedition. Stock tarp, and tree straps. 7/64ths Whoopie Slings are installed. It has only hung in my basement twice for a total of maybe 1 whole day! ...
February is a busy month. Already have too much going on then. January sounds great! Voted for 11th-13th.
What a weekend...too bad it was shortened, but still had a great time meeting new and veteran hangers. Here's some pics that I got on Thursday and Friday.
We're camped right next to the "8" pole.
Sitting by one right now!
New location is Sleagle Creek campsites. Access is trickier, but we made it with a ford focus and Chevy cruze. Parking for at least 15. Bring water filters as there is no well. Lots of good trees....
Seaton creek campground closed due to logging. We will advise everyone of a different place soon.
I'm in for this too. I might be going up Thursday as well.
October is good for me. What about Hoist Lakes? Not too far from I75 for the SE Michigan people. Lots of option for campsites and terrain.
I'm not surprised you couldn't find us. It was stealth hanging at its finest!
I am highly improbable to make this trip now, due to my work schedule being controlled by our friends across the St. Clair River. :cursing: If at all possible, I will try to make it Saturday, but...
I'd be happy if my Jeep got 19MPG! :boggle:
Sorry. It's the S/M in lichen green.
End of the month for me too.
Giving this old thread one more bump. Still for sale. Still never used, and of course has the awesome Osprey warranty.
This may be ok for me too. As long as I'm not out of town for work, and it's not the first weekend in May. I love the MRT.
Giving this a "still for sale" bump!
I'm going to have to pass on this one. The wife's birthday is the 26th, and if I'm not out of town for work, I'd better stick around for her. :(
Count me in!
I also carry a 58L version of this and couldn't be happier. What sold me was the warranty that Osprey has. Never had to use it, but people I've talked to say they replace or fix no questions...
I have an 38L Osprey Kestral pack, size medium for sale. It has never seen the trail, and is brand new except for the tags are off it. I bought it for my wife to use, but she hasn't even shown one...
Soooo tempting!!! I think they may be a bit too long though. How tall are you? I'm at 6' 1" and wear a 32-34" inseam depending on the pants.
