I've still got two left.
The difference between this fabric and silnylon, is that this is PU coated which isn't as slippery, and it's a 70 denier fabric. A bit more durable (and also heavier) than...
Aye, you got it, boss. :)
I don't currently have an excess of fabric to do a production run of 10x 12 tarps. However, I can do something custom, but it will be more expensive.
Two sold, two remaining.
Yes, they would serve as a ground cloth. The pack down pretty small. A bit more bulky than my old golite poncho tarp.
Hi there, sorry for missing the posts here, I was visiting family. Still have 4 left.
I've got four of these babies left. I'll ship them for $40 a piece.
Thanks!
Nathan
I have been sewing for years. This was more of a philanthropic project.I wanted to push myself to do a production run of 20 tarps to see how efficiently I could knock them out. Half of them were...
Two tarps have been sold. Five are remaining.
Price is 45$ shipped, if you buy more than one they're $40 after the first.
Thanks.
5 feet wide by just under 9 feet long
I'm trying to clear out the last of the production run of tarps I've sewn this spring.
It's a durable, inexpensive tarp, great for someone wanting to try out the tarp thing without a huge...
Looks great. Any reason you can't still cut a foot off the bottom? Shouldn't be too much extra work, by the looks of it.
Here is some info in tyvek:
http://www.polymernotes.org/resources/tyvekdupont.htm
The trick with sewing tyvek, is to use a very long stitch, around 4 per inch.
Also, 3M super 77 glue works...
interesting idea. I'd be concerned about the quality of the water, depending upon the tarp material. Agree they get points for thinking outside the box though.
The idea of the static free bags from wilderness logics is also a huge plus. My experience with down has been nothing but a static-induced mess!
Looks great. I have hung hammocks in place of a bed inliving situations where space was very limited.
The best part is that you can take it down, and it's like it was never there.
If I started all over again, I'd make everything myself. Finding the time for that is another thing.
Awesome Vid! that makes it seem so easy. My last attempt at using down resulted in an entire garage filled with down, I'm still finding clumps of down a year later. heh.
Love the simple tutorial, very helpful.
Thanks!
Poly tarps are great to figure out basic setups and get the brain juices flowin'
Awesome! I've been playing around a bit with window shrink film and it's neat stuff!
Cuben is incredibly strong for its weight. That being said, it is so light that it can have durability issues in the lighter weights. If you have an interest in the fabric, I'd recommend buying the...
I vote backsplice.
Thru-Hiker.com also sells it.
Wilderness logics is the best price I've found.
Nice writeup! Quite helpful!
Nice work! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Rock, great info!
Thanks Scott, you rock!
Love the idea, thanks!
Looks great, love the tie out reinforcement.
Great find! My local Walmart rarely has any ripstop nylons, coated OR non :(
Thanks fr all the links and insight. Quite helpful!
Beautiful! The Trinity Alps hold a special place in my heart.
Looks like an awesome trip!
Awesome. Video, thanks for sharing!
People will benefit from this. Keep em coming!
I don't use mine, for most outdoor gear sewing. But the usefulness depends on the fabric too. I see thinner ripstop nylons as being more difficult to work right with the rolled hem foot. This is on...
Also, nylon vs polyester and I've heard too, that coatings affect strength, not sure about breathable coatings like DWR and the like.
I would take the time to write out all the projects I have started and not completed, but that's just another thing distracting me from my work.. anyway, back to reading the DIY forums :)
Looks great, nice work!
I love it ! Thanks for the video.
Nice tutorial and writeup. The innovation here is outstanding.
Great instruction that will help countless DIYers.
Thanks!
Awesome! Inspiring design!
