I'll buy it!

I'm in. Appreciate the gratitude!
Never done business with them. They are a good brand though and I've heard positive things.
Check out Jeff's Hammock Website about how to whip the ends of a hammock and you could make your own. I never had luck with DIY gear so I just buy it. I have an 11 foot hammock and a turtledog stand....
Welcome. The DN is a good place to start, but I recommend you try an 11 foot hammock as the ENO tends to be a little short (at least for me) :) happy hanging!
Pads work well. UQ are nice because they don't move around like a pad would. I'd make sure you have a quality and warm top quilt with that money (you didn't mention your top insulation).
Just...
It's been said before, 20*-30* will do fine. I have a partial length synthetic 30* (Although it's Climashield APEX and it's said that it should add 5*-10*).
Camelbak, Nalgene, or similar thick bottle works. I would say a steel one would work as well. Others may have to vouch on that one as I've never tried it.
Slept in mine outside two nights ago. Feet were warm and not clammy or damp feeling. My lady likes to wear them on the sofa too!
It turned out great and was inspiring! If only I was confident in my sewing skills :)
Ha. I bet my lady would enjoy these when we go in the future. I'll wait to get them until I get in trouble :sly:
Thank you for checking. We won't really need it until this fall. I'll be checking periodically until then though! Then I'll hopefully get with you and Hammeck.
A lightweight solution! At half the weight of the ENO ones. Do you have any idea what the run time is? Other than "all night if needed", that is.
Hope you had some insulation for your backside! Looks like a good rig to start out with, but you'll upgrade as time goes! :)
Dyneema & Dutch from AHE (tarp) & Whoopieslings.com (hammock)
Got mine with an extra half an ounce! Awwweeeeee-baabbyyy! I'll need to turn these inside out for the day to dry the feet-sweat out of them!!
Let's see, what else could I order... :) Congratulations, in advance, to the winner and to AHE.
Glad you chose one! You'll be happy. It's just nice to give a little shop like MountainGoat our money, since she doesn't make hammocks, quilts, and such.
:) It's nice to see you're a member here! I am glad you could help us out and I look forward to hearing from you. Feel free to private message me as well.
MountainGoat for me. They work great and the sewing seems very sturdy.
Meck, ripstopbytheroll shows 1.1 blaze orange in stock with 75 rolls left.
Thank you for that resource and I will actually try to keep an eye out for purple fabric and may get with you in the...
I'd like to see him produce a couple hammocks or even dabble in cuben fiber. My socks have shipped and should be in tomorrow (Friday). I'll be sleeping outside Saturday and they'll get their first...
I cannot speak for enLIGHTened equipment, but from what I've heard through my research the Hammock Gear quilts have accurate temperature ratings. Overstuff is going to be dependent on what kind of...
A grill, sink, and speakers! What's the address? :)
Are you able to supply any colors (in particular, purple) in the 1.1 oz?
I've come across few brands that supply colors, aside from the major...
It came out very nice looking. As I've said on another thread, a quilt is my next project. I've just got to get ahold of a My Luxe pillow!
Wonderful quilt. A quilt is on my list of things to make one of these days...
Those are some fair prices! Would you ever supply a 1.1oz version of your hammocks?
Yes, $8 is inexpensive. I assume you had 'free' materials laying around. One day I'll make a down quilt. Yours looks good, real simple too!
Don't mean to highjack the thread, but when is it usually? I should just ask when will it be this year...
Hello from Tennessee! I hear the Red River Gorge is very nice. It was in a recent issue of backpacker after all (I don't normally read those things by the way).
Happy hangin'
I'm in. Thanks! My Walmart (both of them) doesn't carry these pots and that upsets me!
I ordered a pair recently. I am very excited to get them in as they'll solve my cold feet issue in the Jarbidge and around camp. They'll get a lot of use around the house too! Paul has a wonderful...
Congratulations on the hammock! The Dream Hammock products look very nice. I just got my AHE Toxaway tarp a couple of weeks ago along with his quilts. It's a mighty fine piece of equipment....
"Rectus-assholius" ha :) also never heard of anyone bringing wine on a trip. Looked like a great time in the woods.
It's just so constrictive. I like to sprawl!
Sierra Designs is good stuff though.
Loving that stand you posted lijn.
You'll attract spiders into your quilt with those webbings! Don't ya know..
I sure wish I had my own large lot of land :) looks like a good setup though.
Mighty fine setup you have there. Watch some of Shug's videos on YouTube because he's got the winter hanging stuff down pretty well. Lots of good tips throughout his material.
4 pounds! Whew that's car camping weight :) . You may do better checking around for used sleeping bags. Lafuma makes a fairly inexpensive and lightweight bag, although I'd classify them as a summer...
Looking good. I'd pick the plain black, but I'm just a plain kind of guy. I will be staying tuned to see the outcome.
You should look into ULA or Gossamer Gear packs. I own a ULA CDT and it's comfortable to me, but you have to pack it just right so that nothing pokes you in the back because it lacks a frame. I use...
I mostly found my way here from random research, but Shug's videos definitely inclined me to sign up after lurking the forums for a while.
The outings, especially the Frozen Butt Hang, seems like...
Not all companies offer the double layer hammocks. DD Hammock is good as well as Warbonnet, Dream Hammock, and Butt In A Sling. Those are the only ones I can think of, off hand, that are able to...
Have you thought about just buying or making an UQ?
To answer your question, you'd be looking into a Double Layer Hammock in which you can insert a pad between the two layers that make up the...
I'm in! Thank you :-D
Thanks guys. I have my shopping list and should hopefully report back tomorrow night once it's done. I'll be using hinges and two 6' top rails. Wish me luck.
@gmcttr
Your stand looks great. A couple more questions and then I'll set off on my own, although I'm sure I'll return with more questions.
What length 2x4's did you use?
What length is the...
It looks great. I've been hunting down a indoor stand and so far turtlelady's design is on the front burner. Was there welding required on yours or do they sell 'joints' you can just stick your tubes...
That's a good list of gear there! What kind of pack did you get and what's your cook system going to be? I've been reading AWOL On The Appalachian Trail and I am planning to begin my section hike in...
