I recently bought a house and it has an unfinished basement. I would like to drill through the 2x10 (or maybe they are 2x12?) floor joists and hang length wise with the joist. Is this a good idea...
The -30 like they claim will keep you alive. It would be a horrible night with no sleep but you would live.

Im not sure either, I typically use the patrol bag from the modular sleep sytem as my TQ. If you unzip it, it works great covering me.
