Forgive my ignorance, but I have no clue what GRP poles are...:unsure: (i'm still pretty new at all this...)
I ordered .344 nano tent poles from Quest Outfitters (who were awesome)
and then...
My dad had some aluminum tubing from an above ground pool that I spray painted and cut to suit. At the top of the tripod poles I hammered in some wood doweling (about 4") and screwed in heavy duty...
yeah, I've been loving it. I wouldn't take it hiking, but for car camping it's great.
