On my calendar, I really enjoyed last years hang.
I started with a pad and it worked just fine. I eventually got the lynx just for packing size and weight.
Wow, that sucks. I never use a blade just for that reason. I hope you can get it repaired.
We moved in our brand new home in '97. Our twins were born in '99. Now they keep asking when I plan on fixing this or repairing that. I tell them in 2 yrs when you guys go off to college and can no...
I used my 11ft Dutch Fronkey net at the Smoke Butt Hang and it worked perfectly. It fit my DIY hammock like a glove.
I am. Can't see them.
I had a wonderful time this weekend. The food was fantastic as always. Hot lips and Kingsford did a fantastic job. It was good to see Maytag and Capt Morgan again. I'm glad I got to shoot the breeze...
That's awesome. By the looks of the hammock, I'm willing to bet they may be a Steelers Fan.
I just got my Fronkey bugnet in from Dutch yesterday. I tried it on my DIY hammock last night and it fit like a glove. I didn't cinch it up either and it sealed of pretty good. I just need to treat...
One summertime and one in the...
I was looking on Dutch's site last night and the 11ft nets were out of stock but I received an email today saying they were expecting them in today. I think I'm going to get one for my DIY hammock.
I finished the flute for the raffle. It's an E flute and sounds super nice.
I got my ULA Catalyst in today from Goathanger. I can't wait to hike up to the "enchanted forest" with it.
I'll take it.
I spoke with my buddy "The Wigster" last night and he seemed pretty pumped about coming and trying out a hammock for the first time. I told him he would have a great time.
I second that motion!!!
AHE bear pillow here. Works perfect for me.
I finally test my first DIY hammock Friday night and it slept fantastic. The only problem was I woke up a couple of times to find the foot end of my TQ hanging out slightly. I stumbled across this...
Got mine ordered. Told my wife I got a Whooo Buddy Shug shirt coming and she looks at me all confused and says "You got a what???"
Yep, I got my whoopie slings and hooks yesterday so I can use permanently out in the "Man Cave" for hanging my DIY hammock when it's lollygagging time.
If you don't sell the package deal and decide to split, I would like to get first dibs on the Borah vest.
I got in my 0 deg Multicam Yeti and it is awesome. I instantly felt the heat when I added it under the hammock for a quick test. I just need to add a little more shock cord.
I will build a nice G Native American Style flute to put in the raffle. Something a little different.
I had a great time last year and will most definitely try and be there again this year.
If half astronomical decides to pass on Yeti, I'll take it now.
I hope everyone has a good time. If it wasn't for the scout campout this weekend, I would be there. Unfortunately, the place we are camping at has no trees period and I don't have a portable stand....
I had a small reflective bubble pad under my knees and feet along with my Enlightened Equip Rev X 20 TQ. In Spring and Summer months, I don't use the pad.
I have a 20 Yeti and it works perfect for me. I have been down to 23F with it and was just fine. It's very light and packs really small.
I'm already making plans to be at the Smoked Butt Hang. We have our OA Conclave in the middle of April so I can't make Merchants Mill. This fall my schedule will be wide open. I want to get out...
My son will complete his Eagle Scout rank this Fall and after that, I will have lots of free time on my hands going forward and plan on attending more hangs in the future. Just about everything so...
Have fun and enjoy yourselves.
I plan on making it to this. Since my wife doesn't camp, she is planning on staying with our nephew who just so happens to live in Durham. Works out perfectly!!!!!
I have a Pre-Camporee with the Scouts that weekend, but will be there come the Fall.
I too think the 28th - 31st of May will work best.
Same with me, I can look at the pics on my Ipad and they look normal. If I look using a desktop computer or laptop, they are upside down.
I do now. LOL. I will have to try and fix that this evening.
I got the ridgeline adjusted and tried it out and it lays wonderful. Now to tackle the bug net install and a stuff sack.
I'm thinking of doing this also. The hammock looks fantastic!!!
I hung it up in the bedroom so I could determine where to sew on my side pullouts. It's tempting to lay in but I dont think the curtain rods will hold me. LOL
I got my Whoopie Hook suspension and adjustable ridgeline installed. I will set it up this weekend, get everything adjusted and then proceed with the bug net installation.
There is one coming up the first part of March at Yates Place in the Uwharrie National Forrest.
I still have to install the whoopie hook suspension and the UCR when they come in, then I can install zippers and bug netting.
I did 7 deg F in my WBRR with sock and 0 deg Mamba, Lynx, zlite pad in the sleeve. I was nice and warm.
I will most definitely try and be there. I had a blast at the Fall hang.
I have seen on a few DIY videos of people running the edge of their material over an open flame like a candle before doing any sewing. What is the purpose of this and is it necessary?
Yes it does.
I picked up the machine yesterday and now I'm a "Happy Camper". It was in perfect condition and runs nice and smooth.
WOW, that looks nice. I just received in today my material to make my first DL DIY hammock and I got Multicam and Burnt Orange. Those colors look awesome together on your UQ.
I'm 6'3" and I have no issues with my full length Lynx keeping my feet warm. I stay nice and warm in the Ridgerunner.
I'm trying to set up a time to go pick up the machine this Saturday. He dropped the price to $80 and I just can't let that slip past me. Hopefully, I'll be practicing and learning how to use this...
