Definitely better for an Autumn trip.
Mosquitoes not too bad. Was surprised. Humidity was incredible, steamy junglesque. Air probably too water dense for all but the strongest to fly.
That is definitely part of the plan, with or without mosquitoes.
The insertion of a pad between the layers of my RR really helped with the squeeze except if the pad is as wide as the RR. Had to go with a standard Klymit width and not the Luxe, the Luxe just...
Just how ferocious are the mosquitoes in RRG in mid June? Planning a 5 day excursion for 6/10-6/15.
The HG Econ 40 UQ is easy to tune to the Chameleon Wide. You will like it.
HG Econ 40 Incubator and Econ 40 Burrow are quite comfortable at 60F indoors with skivvies and t-shirt. I typically am a cold sleeper.
Had a similar experience with O/V Aerie 30 used as a sleeping bag in a hammock indoors 60F, I froze. Their return policy was fair enough that I would do business with them again.
Incubator Econ 40 arrived yesterday along with a Burrow Econ 40. Installed on my Chameleon Wide in about 5 minutes. About 60F in the basement lair, and no issues of any kind for 8hrs of sleep...
I am not qualified to answer since I only have a WBRR and a Chameleon wide. Each has its merits, but I do prefer the Chameleon.
I’ll take the kit per PM’s
Same experience here @ 180lbs with a wide. Not an issue for me because I did not intend to sit in it much. The lay is fantastic, just like my momma’s arms when I was an infant, IIRC.
Thanks Shug. You have provided a tremendous amount of information through your videos, they are entertaining and have shortened my learning curve.
Thanks Paul, I will give the spreader bar length adjustment a try.
Yes, AHE TQ & UQ, no moisture issues, just enough shoulder squeeze to wake me up several times in the night.
AHE TQ and UQ are serving me well as my first hammock bedding. https://www.arrowhead-equipment.com/store/c3/KAQ_Synthetic_Quilts.html
I am working out my set up and really like the lay of the hammock with a pad inserted between the layers. The pad is a Klymit V Luxe and I notice a slight bit of perspiration on my back, just enough...
Picked one up on closeout in my local Meijer grocery and stuff store. Not comparable to the cottage vendors, but a great first hammock for my 5yr old so she can hang with the big people. For $35...
Advice much appreciated TrailSlug!
My first and only hammock, so far, is the Ridge Runner. The double layer model holds a 30” pad quite well. I inflate my Klymit V pad to maximum and am an active sleeper. I have no issues with...
Enjoying the forum and new to hammocks and related gear. Thank you for sharing, experiences and wisdom.
I’ll take sir!
